I have to say this place is a solid 4.5/5 for the following reasons: 1. Flavor of the broth I ordered regular sate beef. Very flavourful, had plenty of sate flavor. 2. Texture of noodles. Especially as more places are struggling with cheaper noodles due to inflation, this place uses thicker flat rice noodles that was very texturally pleasing to me. I haven't found a place that served thicker noodles. 3. Price - large portion 1 bowl fed me twice as i brought it home. Their promo pricing meant I got a bowl of noodles and a pop for a little less than $14 not including tip. 4. Beef, they included quite a lot of meat and I enjoyed that they had a little bit of fat on them rather than the extremely lean/overcooked beef I usually find with other places. Is the service great? Not really, but pho lovers know that we don’t typically go to a yummy pho place for the service. It’s always a plus of course, but most of the time we’re there for a fast, filling and satisfying bowl of noodles. Will be back!
I’ve driven by Vietnam Fortune Restaurant probably a hundred times. Today was the first time I stopped in for dinner with my wife. I didn’t realize how good a restaurant it is and how much I’ve missed out over the years. The place was clean and well kept with a warm and cozy interior. The staff was very friendly, quick and accommodating. The food was delicious, reasonably priced and offered good value for what you got. I’ll for sure come back to Vietnam Fortune Restaurant now that I know just how great it is.
As a newcomer to Canada, the marketing of Dollar-saving food items appealed to me more than health-saving ones. I forgot that health is also wealth, and I plundered my wealth. After a meandering life’s journey, my need for well-prepared and healthy food landed me at the steps of the Vietnamese Fortune Restaurant on Kensington and 14 St NW junction in Calgary, AB, Canada. It has a main floor and a basement. The restroom for men is a simple stairway down from the main floor. It had adequate paper towels and a handwash that smelled so good that I had to jot down the Savon De Royal brand. The restroom is not opulent but is sufficient for the purposes it was built for. The temperature was cool downstairs, and it reminded me of a serene breeze on the Sun-kissed faraway island. The main floor and the food were the perfect temperatures, fighting the Calgary weather of -17°C with a wind velocity of 6 Km/hr impressively. I was delighted to be waited upon by none other than L.O.G.E herself. She brought the chef’s prepared food, which was delectable in flavour and delicately translucent texture. I spent 20 - 30 minutes feasting there. More than seven drivers from Uber Eats, Skip The Dishes, and those that ordered via phone poured in. The attached pictures include the restaurant’s ambiance, food quantity, and nourishments Veg spring rolls and fried rice. I questioned why the boxes on the main floor encroached on the restaurant space. I learned how the current market conditions got affected by different countries quibbling with each other like bickering children. So, to the Long Overdue Goals And Negotiations L.O.G.A.N in our country, L.O.G.E Lady of Great Efficiency requires you to negotiate vermicelli prices better, so the business and the chain stores she shops at can mutually aid each other. She was modest to remove the spotlight from herself and shine on the place of work instead. I feel we must be supportive enough to help her and the establishment’s progress.
Order here! SUPERB and tasty delivered hot and delicious! The stir fried lemongrass vermicelli was the best I have ever had! Pork spring rolls tasty crisp meaty and the peanut sauce as a dip is a must order! Finally the Banana coconut spring rolls spectacular! Oh and not to pass up the spicy sate Beef Salad Rolls Outstanding! Well done Vietnam Fortune! Vegetarian options: Yes they have options
I ordered off skip the dishes. You can tell they put no effort into making the food. I got a beef soup for around $17 there was no meat just all broth, I got the meat, shrimp and chicken combo with the noodles, food was horrible no flavour and not cooked properly. Very disappointed in the amount of money I spent.
They have the best vegetarian spring rolls out of all the Vietnamese restaurants I've tried in Calgary! I ordered the house special pho and the portion is huge, I leave this place super full. They're one of the few Vietnamese restaurants that are open later too!
My favorite spot in calgary for sure for beef satee. The peanut broth is amazing. I've always eaten inside. This time I decided to take out. I was disappointed to see the bean sprouts mixed into the soup as opposed you usually been on the side, but the fixed it and that makes me grateful
ordered 3 items for pick up at the counter, not over the phone. All 3 were messed up. First, regular satay noodle soup the girl even asked what type of satay I wanted and mentioned regular. Was given peanut satay soup. Second, pork spring rolls, got home with vegetable ones. Third, chicken satay sub, came home to open up a regular chicken sub. Not only the order was completely messed up, the food was absolutely sub-par. The beef in the noodle soup was super stringy and fat, noodles were uncooked, sub was full of cartilage so obviously very cheap meats being used, spring rolls were mushy. To top it off, their prices were some of the highest I've seen around. 4.5 for 2 spring rolls and 14.50 for a regular size soup, no add-ons.
You guys have to try number 30 with rice noodle and satay ide say this place has a spot in my heart lol decent price as well.
I think there is a new kitchen staff. The soup was excellent and very savory. I had the seafood curry with vermicelli noodles. The seating has been rearranged and is very welcoming and cozy. Vegetarian options: Plenty to choose from on menu Parking: Ample parking
