A hidden gem, Vicuña Chocolate has a truly wonderful atmosphere and chocolate that is not too sweet, but not too bitter. The name also prompts any passerbys to Google what a "vicuña" is, and it is very much worth it. Topped off with the fact that they serve only organic, fair-trade chocolate, this is the place to be.
This place was a great find in my fall foliage drive late September. The owner was so polite and definitely seemed proud of his chocolate For good reason, too. Picked up their chocolate box so my husband and I could try everything. It was perfect! All dark chocolate they tasted nothing alike, but all tasted beautifully. Also was fortunate enough to get a bag of their caoca tea. It's surprisingly similar to coffee with a small undertone of chocolate in taste but no caffeine. I did enjoyed. Will be making orders from them for sure.
Homemade feel. Ethical fair trade company. Coffee was good. Espresso was amazing and Chai tea was okay. The highlight is the chocolate factory. The factory is viewable from the cafe through windows, which presents a personal relationship to the food we eat. Very delicious! The baked goods were especially excellent with chocolate added directly from their factory.
i think they are somewhat expensive for coffee, however they do everything from scratch! its a nice quiet place to relax and create art.
The Averill House Vineyard crew stopped by to design their own custom chocolate and had a flavorful visit. True Tropical was a great match for the chocolate. Try the coffee husk tea , delicious!
Amazing coffee and a great place to relax on a Saturday morning. I dropped by Vicuna to spend some time while waiting for my son and his friends to hike nearby Mount Monadnock. It's a wonderfully comfy place with friendly service and excellent coffee. I tried a latte, an Americano and a cappuccino in the few hours I was there and they were all excellent. I also had a scone with really chunky pieces of chocolate in it and enjoyed that too. They make their own chocolate, so I brought some for home. Handmade chocolate is always expensive but oh so worth it. I'll have to look for an excuse to be in Peterborough in the future!
Artisan quality chocolate! Made on premise, best chocolate ever! Stop by and sample , learn about the process and enjoy a luxurious beverage. Sipping chocolate, not the stuff grandma made. Then buy an arm load of bars to enjoy until your next visit.
Definitely the best place to relax and enjoy quality chocolate. The place was impeccably clean the ambiance. Soothing and the chocolate barista was the friendliest and welcoming..love the place, I live in rhode island and would travel the 2 hours it takes to enjoy their chocolate
Great chocolate but not cheap expect to pay for the quality.salespeople are friendly enough. The sipping chocolate is absolutely decadent thick and rich, not your average cup of swiss miss
Liquid chocolate, rich brownie served with chocolate nibs & chocolate chip cookies. Everything made there starting with cocoa beans roasted, ground and made into chocolate. The place to go to celebrate the end of “guilt eating”. Paradise!
