I just had an amazing experience riding in a birth on Via rail and had to leave a review. We went for 30 hours and it was so magical I didn't want it to end! The food selection and taste three times each day was incredible, the events to entertain passengers were fun, there was a free wine tasting, a games and snacks train car, several bubble cars, a nice lounge car, hot and pressured shower water, and just the kindest nicest group of attendants who were attentive and helpful. Thank you so much for this experience and I'll definitely be recommending the train to friends & family. Thumbs up emoji x10.

I wish I could give 0 stars. I paid to sit on car 7, but they didn't let me sit there. Said that for security reasons since there was only another lady and myself and we had to sit on car 6. They should let everyone know before booking car 7 that the if it's not enough people, they won't let you go to car 7.

Every other trip with VIA is a new kind of hell. This last trip to Stratford from Toronto took 5 hours longer than it should have, and we ended up being transferred to a bus anyway that stopped at every train station. No refund was issued for this nightmare experience that had my wife throwing up from carsickness from the winding back-country routes we had to take. ONEX bus seems the best way to travel short distances now; VIA is already trying to make the experience feel and cost like a flight, so just fly if you are going further afield. High speed rail can't come fast enough.

The union station is beautiful. the staff were helpful and friendly. I was so excited to take a ride on the VIA rail.nnWith that being said, both my trains were late. 1 was only 10 mins late, but I ended up missing my connection in Toronto at Union Station.nnMy trip from Toronto to London was over an hour late, and I ended up late for work. I would not recommend taking VIA Rail if you have something important to be at.

Went Toronto to Montreal and back in 2 days.nStaff was friendly and efficient. Food/beer very expensive.nnTrain was late, both times, by more than an hour.nCompared to European train service, its pretty poor.nnTracks are rattle hell, so its a very bouncy ride.nNext time...I'll drive.
