Vern's Pizza - 28t St

My Second best friend sent an Awesome pizza for my 62nd birthday . Thank you kindly for accommodating his unusual request. He knew I 'd probably have to celebrate a bit tonight.

Fantastic as per usual! Tried the lite pizza this time and it's still a really good size and a lot of toppings. Sauce has a slight sweetness to it and we love how thin the meat is sliced.

Vern's used to be one of my favorite pizza places in the whole city, and unfortunately I have to say that they've fallen from that spot. Their customer service has dropped significantly, the quality of their pizza has dropped slightly, and while I understand inflation but their prices aren't worthwhile to me anymore. I feel that the quantity of food to what you pay is just not worth it. My most recent visit was also quite disappointing on the customer service front, whichever younger staff were "working" were quite rude, extremely slow, and just weren't showing any care for the job or the business. Sad to say it'll be a while before I come back.

Just picked up a “ thick “ pizza $36 and when we got home drove 40 minutes to pick up and opened the box , there was very little meat on the pizza . We have bought “ Vern’s light “ pizza in the past that had more meat on it than this one and only cost $15 . If this is their new “ thick “ pizza , we wont be back …. Very disappointed in this Vern’s pizza .Will not be back to this location !!! Update - I have sent pictures of the very thin pizza to Vern’s and never heard anything back , this just tells me that the owner doesn’t care about his customers. Take the money and run !!! Good bye Vern’s !!

Tried to order pizza delivery through Vern’s website. After 75 minutes, I phoned to check in order. I gave them the order number, and was told it would be another 20 minutes. After 2 hours, I called back and was told they didn’t have my order…. It must be skip the dishes problem. I DIDN'T order through Skip. Very unprofessional management here. No apologies, just blame someone else. Will not order from this location ever again.

Luke warm cool upon delivery arrived in 45 min so it must be fresh right? Guess not. used to be the best now Chinese bought it must be the only reason. Switching back to Chinese Chicago deep dish at least it's hot when I get it.

We were in Calgary for the day. And husband and I remember that they had Vern pizza! Of course we knew exactly what we wanted MOMA MIA!!! This is like your typical house pizza BUT it a 5 POUNDS OF HEAVEN!! You can only order 15/18 inch due to amount of toppings and YES THERE IS A LOT!! see pictures I posted. I and my husband really like their sauce it a little sweet not overly. When we place the order we knew it was going to take longer than normal for it to be delivered 40 min, just to cook. The guy over the phone was pleasant and even asked if we could use plates forks etc BONUS!! Yes when we got our food within an hour of calling 15 min drive they remember the plates etc we had said yes too. It been a few years since we have had Vern : . But this place in Calgary never left us down! I STRONGLY RECOMMEND trying this pizza MOMA MIA for anyone who is really hungry or loves house pizza. Very filling pizza and worth the cost hand down! When the delivery guy came same professional and friendly.

Somewhat expensive but worth the price due to how loaded their pizzas are. If you're going to choose pizza around the 20$ mark, definitely go here. The T-Rex pizza is aptly named considering how many layers of meat there are. The cheese is probably the best quality in the SE and there's a nice thick layer. The bottom crust is nice and thin but strong enough to hold the toppings. Everything about the pizza is seriously great quality.

No respect for customers.... Walked in to pick up some pizza and there was three guys in the back talking. Wouldn't even acknowledge I was even there. Finally looked like they were done talking so I asked if anyone is working here. One guy said Yes the two in the back. I made eye contact with one of them and nothing, no i'll be right with you or anything. So I left and I was the only customer in the store. If the employees at Verns Pizza can not give the respect to at least to greet there customers, then I will never give them the respect on spending one dime at Verns ever again. BTW I've been a customer of verns pizza for over 30 years to the first Verns in Saskatoon. I guess good things don't last forever. Such a shame..

Not bad Pizza. Very thick Pizza with a lot of meat. The dry ribs was disappointing it was overcooked too dry for my taste. But the pizza flavor pretty good. Much better than other franchise Pizza Joint such as Pizza Hut Pizza 73.
