I stayed here on two occasions. The first year the stay included lift tickets to haystack. It included a detailed email about the accommodations including where to park, and how to get into the room. We decided to try it again this year because although it is expensive we thought that lift tickets could offset the cost. We were told that tickets weren't included this year, and we didn't even have the option to get lift tickets to haystack. The second year we got here my wife said, "what did the email say?" There wasn't one the second year. So we called their main number and were told to go to a different Inn (the white house) to pick up the room keys. The polite lady gave me a packet and I had to ask about parking and the key code to get in (because I remember it being confusing the first year). She indicated that the email should have had instructions. The rooms both years we stayed were nice. They are very small. The bathrooms have tiled and glass walk-in showers and all of the furniture is still pretty new. The bathrooms are freezing because the heat and the air conditioning come out of a unit mounted directly over the bed. This results in hot and cold swings all night. The window coverings aren't mounted in the window frames so from the bed (if given the first floor) you still get a straight view to the side walk even with the shades down. After a long day of skiing (NOT at haystack of course) you climb into a bed, that is very uncomfortable. I felt like I'm missing something so I went back through the welcome packet. We could have driven 15 minutes north to the Hermitage inn which includes some tubing, and some hot tubs. It says we also could have gone to haystack to use the fitness center that is there. So if I want to work out I can walk to the public parking get in my car drive 10-15 minutes to haystack. Park my car in their satellite parking (because I'm not a member) then be shuttled to the lodge where I can see the mountain, I can't ski at, so that I can get a workout in At a fitness center... All that said... Wilmington is great. The restaurants are great and the people are great. If you want to stay in town and you ignore everything about the hermitage's confusing and changing policies and understand that check-in will be a little confusing, then this is a perfectly reasonable place to stay.

My wife and I had a great stay at the Vermont House Inn (a Hermitage Properties facility) this past weekend. The accommodations were nice, the room was clean and quiet and well appointed, the bathroom was very swanky... It's important to note that there is NO front desk at this inn, and no staff. Every question that we had, any issues that arose, had to be dealt with by an off-site staff member of Hermitage Properties over the telephone. They were very responsive to our needs, but I felt like it was really a "self-help" establishment. On the website, it states that all rates include a "cooked breakfast" at the White House Inn (one of the MANY Hermitage Properties establishments in Willmington). When I called to get the times for breakfast, I was told that our stay didn't include any meals. I mentioned the listing on the website and they quickly issued us breakfast vouchers for our stay, with no arguments. Another amenity was complimentary bicycles. We were told over the phone that the bikes were at the Hermitage Inn (yet another Hermitage Properties establishment), and that we'd have to help ourselves to them because there is no front desk/staff there, either. After much driving (way up to the Hermitage Clubhouse) and back down to the Hermitage Inn, we finally found the bikes. In all, this was a really nice stay, and I'd go back again if I had the chance. If you're someone who wants to be waited on, or who wants the help of a concierge with everything, this isn't the place for you. You need to be able to figures some things out on your own and to help yourself. Willmington is a really quaint little town with lots of eateries and places for quiet night life. We thoroughly enjoyed sipping wine on our third-floor balcony in the evenings and a cup of coffee there in the mornings. Though the inn is right on the main road, the traffic noises weren't bad at all. The ONLY real negative that I can think of is that our particular room's wall-mounted AC unit, though very quiet, was mounted right over the bed and blew down onto the bed. It made the nights a little breezy.

A friend and myself had the most fantastic dinner experience of our trip at the Vermont House in Wilmington. It was absolutely delicious. We will be back. Tom had the surf and turf (Fillet Mignon ad Stuffed Shrimp) ...delicious... and I had a fantastic pasta dish which included scallops, mussels, shrimp and fish with .white wine garlic and herbs over linguine. If you in Wilmington this place is a must.....

We ate here for lunch on a warm and sunny (the only one of our week) August day. I just wanted something light and ordered a caesar salad. I'm pretty sure my boyfriend had a hamburger. Service was quick, the place was beautiful and it was an all around great meal. Prices were very reasonable.
