Old Red Mill Inn

Owner of hotel called while we were eating – said since we wouldn’t be there until after 7:00 p.m., he would just leave our keys with instructions in an envelope by the front door. There were no instructions about how to get to rooms or if they were upstairs or where. It wasn’t very welcoming. When we found our room, it was more like a small dorm room at a college. Everything was dated. There were a lot of stains on the carpet which made it even less inviting. The bathroom was extremely small, although very clean. The shower was so small you couldn’t turn around in it (I’m not very large either). In the room, you could hear when the people in the next room were walking around (each step), and if they moved in bed, you could hear that as well. It was almost like having roommates! There wasn’t much to do after dark in Wilmington, so we tried to watch TV – it was a 13” TV with a broken remote. It was also plugged into the same socket as the light so that if you turned off the light switch, you turned off the TV. The light on the wall nearly fell off when I tried to turn it on one time. The worst part was that there was no one to welcome us at any time during our visit. It really was like staying in a dorm where you just came and went without anyone interested at all if you were having a good time. Sure, there was a number you could call if you needed anything, but no “welcome” feeling. The housekeeper was VERY nice. She was very accommodating and friendly. Although the bed was fairly comfortable, the linens were VERY old with “nobbies” on them. There were about 6 inches from the side of the bed to the wall – a little cramped on both sides. There was no breakfast – coffee (we don’t drink coffee) and ice were available, but nothing else. We ate at Dot’s – best part of our trip!! You might ask why we didn’t leave instead of staying for the two nights we had reservations – if you check out early, there are no refunds, so we didn’t want to lose our money. Ending statement – if you like dorm life, you’ll love this place!

Zero sound proofing between rooms, you can hear everything. The room is only half clean every time you come back (my shower had hair from the previous occupant). This is the cheapest room close to mount snow, but I would suggest finding another place.

Charming historic inn not far from Mt Snow! Owner reached out to let us know how to access the key for a late night check in. Great Town, rustic and enjoyable lobby, very clean. Room was small however it fit into the historic old mill feel

Got in late, and the staff was willing to come and help us get settled after they had already gone home for the night. Rooms were small, but very clean and comfortable. Beautiful location and facility, would absolutely stay here again.
