Vent Fitness

A membership based fitness center with multiple locations. A good selection of cardio, free weight and machines. Multiple classes. The classes can be larger. I find the classes are not as good as going to a smaller independent gym where trainers are certified and can set up the workouts themselves. It is not a facility where you are going to walk in and know everyone and they b know you. The facility is overall well maintained.

Great facility and staff. I'm a cardio equipment user and they have a broad selection. Bet time to come is during the day when fewer people are there. Gets busy after work. Try out the hydromassage bed after a tough workout . A higher plan is required for that, attending other local Vents, and using the pool in Guilderland.

Let's go with 3.5 stars. My wife and I just rejoined. We used to be members in Guilderland. We now are Niskayuna. First off. Niskayuna is alot cleaner. The locker room doesn't smell like ass like Guilderland. It's smaller. I'm glad I don't go during peak. Not sure how the flow is from 5 to 7/8 but I get out of work at 8:30 and it's great. Towels. 2 bucks???? Really!!!! I'm sure people stole em. But come on. Also the membership went up since we last joined. However we don't have a contract like we did the last time. Which we got burned on. Our fault though. All in all it's a gym. If you need to exercise and don't have it at home. 20 bucks for basic access seems ok. I'm no gym guru. But for keeping in shape it does the job.

Excellent range of dumbbells for a commercial gym (up to 150lbs) really nice benches. Biggest downside was how busy it is after 430 pm, but that problem is not unique to Vent.
