Venango General Store History
Built in the late 1800’s this landmark building located in the borough of Venango, Crawford County Pennsylvania has been the home to several businesses as well as the International Order of Odd Fellow’s lodge 486. At just over 7000 Sf. Ft. this building has been home to a General Store, Library, US Post Office and most recently Don’s Furniture until the late 1980’s. Unoccupied for more than 20 years the building fell into disrepair and was placed for sale by its owner. In September 2011 while searching for commercial property for their pickle company Mark and Tracey Olenick came across the building and decided to purchase it with the intent of turning it into a general store and future base of operations for their pickle manufacturing business. More about Mark and Tracey and their family can be found on their website at www.lukescukes.com
