Story

The Ottawa Veterinary Hospital is a Companion Animal Hospital, which also offers emergency care twenty four hours a day, seven days a week three hundred and sixty five days a year. Our emergency service is staffed with veterinarians and technicians on site, which gives you the option of continued care for your pet at one convenient location. We offer supportive care to veterinarians in the National Capital Region, accepting transfers and referrals. We provide general practice and routine procedures including vaccination, spays, neuters, dentistry, microchip implants, cryo-surgery, electrocardiograms, endoscopy, ultrasound, digital radiographs, blood pressure monitoring, critical care, and expedience pharmacy. The Ottawa Veterinary Hospital welcomes new clients, emergencies, transfers and of course our regular clients.

Thank you to everyone at the VCA Ottawa, I can't say enough good things about this veterinary hospital. From start to finish, the entire experience was outstanding. The staff were incredibly professional and kind, making both me and my dog feel completely at ease. The veterinarian was very compassionate, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain everything clearly. My dog had to undergo surgery, and I was amazed at how smoothly and quickly everything went—it truly couldn’t have gone better. They're also well-equipped for emergencies, which gave me so much peace of mind. This is hands down the best vet I've ever had.nnIt's worth noting that they are not cheap, but the extra money I spent was absolutely worth it, their level of service is truly top of the line. I honestly wish I had a doctor or private clinic that treated me as well as they treated my pet. I'd gladly pay extra for this level of professionalism. Absolutely recommended to anyone.
What an amazing and special surprise! I had to bring my dog in for an unexpected visit and had already resigned myself to paying a certain amount for the accident. I didn’t know they were running a limited-time promotion, so it was such a wonderful surprise — and the care we received was absolutely top-notch.nnFrom start to finish — receptionist, vet tech, veterinarian, and back again — everyone was warm, friendly, professional, and genuinely caring. Usually my dog is scared stiff at the vet and the whole experience is stressful for us both, but this visit felt calm and reassuring. While he was still a little nervous, he was treated so gently and compassionately that it made all the difference.nnThe wait was very short, the process was smooth, and I felt my dog was in the best hands every step of the way. And the cherry on top? I ended up paying less than half of what I expected. Exceptional service, exceptional people, and such a happy outcome for both me and my pup. Thank you!
I had an amazing experience at this animal hospital! My dog recently fractured his paw, and Dr. Megan went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable and well cared for. She was incredibly patient, kind, and thorough, taking the time to explain everything and reassure me throughout the process. You can truly tell she cares about her patients. I’m so grateful for her help and consideration—my dog is on the mend thanks to her expertise. Highly recommend this hospital and especially Dr. Megan!
Vca Hospital fairlawn plaza . The receptionist Mark went above and beyond to fix my claim, when the other receptionist told me even though my claim got approved, when i went to pay she said it got denied and that I need to call them.nMark was very kind to take it upon himself to call the insurance company to find out why this happened. It took 5 mins to fix it. I hope she learned from him. It really says a lot for a person that takes five mins of their time to help. Especially when leaving the vet hospital with your pet. I appreciate Mark for his efforts I want everyone to know. Maybe it’s a little thing , it’s those little things that have a true impact and I’m very grateful to him.nAnna and Archie
We came here pretty late at night for a suspected bladder/intestinal issue for our kitty Aphrodite. It was clean, comfortable and welcoming and the wait times were very reasonable. Everyone there treated us and her with lots of care and compassion. The visit was as stress-free as it could be and you can tell they care about their patients a lot. She is doing great at home now and would give VCA Ottawa 5 stars!
