Story

The Ottawa Veterinary Hospital is a Companion Animal Hospital, which also offers emergency care twenty four hours a day, seven days a week three hundred and sixty five days a year. Our emergency service is staffed with veterinarians and technicians on site, which gives you the option of continued care for your pet at one convenient location. We offer supportive care to veterinarians in the National Capital Region, accepting transfers and referrals. We provide general practice and routine procedures including vaccination, spays, neuters, dentistry, microchip implants, cryo-surgery, electrocardiograms, endoscopy, ultrasound, digital radiographs, blood pressure monitoring, critical care, and expedience pharmacy. The Ottawa Veterinary Hospital welcomes new clients, emergencies, transfers and of course our regular clients.

Staff was compassionate, professional, honest and very caring. We were fortunate tonhave Dr. Ian as our veterinarian for our sick toy poodle. He gave wonderful care and discussed options and prices openly and honestly. Fortunately, for our sweet boy, Lambie, he made a full recovery. Very grateful to the VCA Staff and veterinarians. Would never hesitate to go there again in case of any emergency.
I had to take my 100lbs reactive German shepherd here for an emergency visit and we had a great experience considering vet visits are usually very stressful for us and we didn’t have our usual sedation before hand. The clinic is very spacious and clean and well organized. The staff were great to work with and the Vet and technicians were understanding and adapted to the needs of my dog. I found it to be relatively fast service and actually had a decent time considering the situation. I would 100% recommend this clinic to anyone looking for an after hours or emergency clinic especially for reactive or fearful dogs.
I wanted to extend a huge thank you to everyone at VCA Carling. All the amazing people at reception, the wonderful technician, and the wonderful Dr. Said. I brought my brother's dog Wayne in a panic as I am watching him for the week and I have never visited any kind of vet before. From my initial phone call, to the genuine/honest care Wayne received, and the breakdown of the bill/insurance, I feel so much better about Wayne and the symptoms he is showing. We appreciate you so much!
The staff were lovely and attentive. My bunny was very sick and unfortunately died. I brought her back home in her carrier where they had wrapped her in the blankets I bought and put her in a bag. They cared for her comfort and it showed. It’s not the outcome I wanted for her but the staff made me feel like they cared about her and were comforting after she died. They were also very knowledgeable. I am thankful for their care.
I was referred to this vet hospital by another that identified Jackson’s problem but did not have the resources to continue the emergency procedure. My cat had water in his lungs and needed it removed asap. The staff at VCA was very quick once they got Jackson’s file from another vet. The doctor also explained how risky his situation was in a very realistic way.The procedure was successful . While Jackson stayed in the hospital, they kept me up-to-date via text and phone.nI felt I was treated with compassion and humanity. Staff is not only knowledgable, but also caring. When I went to pick up Jackson presctiption, there was a heart beside his name .nWhenever I have enquiries, they promptly answer my questions.nI highly recommend this hospital.
