Came in here for a quick breakfast before work. It's a typical Cantonese diner breakfast. It serves Western and Cantonese items. You can pick 2 items and it will be ~ 14 dollars. Got Italian omelette like regular ham omelette but with more onions Chicken and mushroom congee very good Rice rolls and peanut sauce cravings Beef instant noodles Fast services. Love this place so far. Free Parking in the back!! Kid-friendliness: Family diner Parking: About 10-15 spots in the back Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp
We visited them for dinner couple times and have enjoyed their food each time. Dishes were tasty and servers are very friendly and helpful. Dinner portions are generous. We especially like their dinner combo options. Will definitely visit again to try other dishes.
I love Hong Kong style cafes. This one didn’t disappoint but the price point was close to $20 a dish. The cold hk milk tea was delicious and the baked bolognaise was down right with chicken steak which was moist and tender. Parking was hard to find.
Van Tea Cafe is another great spot for Cantonese cuisine. The restaurant reminds me of the classic Asian cafes in Hong Kong. However, their prices do not reflect the typical cheaper more affordable Asian cafes. Compared to other Asian Cafes in Vancouver and Richmond, their price is more steep. However, I do enjoy their e-fu noodles and steamed chicken claypot rice.
The steaks are really good. The Chinese cuisines are pretty delicious. One issue I have is that the waitresses seem to be pretty impatient with mandarin speakers.
Decent value for breakfast. The food is fine. Service is quick. Ice lemon tea is nice. Parking: Free parking within their lot or the surrounding streets. Wheelchair accessibility: I do not believe the doors have motor assist.
I’ve been here a few times and it’s pretty standard fare. The food is good and reasonably priced. Environment is not the cleanest, but I’ve seen worse. Service is not good typically, but it was downright despicable on my latest visit. My server spilled soy sauce all over my pants after bringing my dish to my table. We both looked at each other and she quickly turned and walked away. I had to get her back to my table to get more napkins to clean up the mess, to which she was dismissive and unapologetic about it. To add insult to injury, there was even a noticeable strand of hair in my dish clay pot chicken rice. I’ve been to my fair share of Asian restaurants with bad service, but this one takes the cake. I’m not coming back and not recommending anyone curious to take a chance either.
First time we were there, we enjoyed their lobster combo for dinner. The second time we went back, we were served pink chicken with one of their noodle dishes … and we had a pregnant lady at the table. We sent it back and the staff said the chef agree it was still pink but cannot make us the same dish so asked us to pick something else off the menu. We picked another noodle dish and the staff said she won’t recommend that and that this other dish was safer. We suspect they had issues with some of their ingredients that they still tried to serve but the wait staff didn’t want the pregnant person to get sick so told us what was safe on the menu and what wasn’t. My partner still ended up with some GI issues. Will not be returning.
Update: some menu changes they got rid of the BUNNY CHOW- curry in the bread loaf! and attitude changes. There was a broken chipped plate and we asked for a change. They took the plate away and told us we didn’t need one for the big dishes sitting in the middle it’s ok we’ll just pick at it with chop sticks. Portions are smaller and doesn’t taste as good. First world problems...ya I know. Old: Breakfast is amazing and for less than $11 you will walk or waddle away happy! The mini set meals here are awesome and decently priced. Honey garlic spareribs, sweet and sour deep fried fish, lobster fried in spicy seasoning/cream sauce over flat rice cakes are notable items for ordering if you are with a party big enough to enjoy a few variety of dishes. Decent portions, clean and quick.
The fries and food are good. The club sandwich is a lot of food. Dad ordered the baked spaghetti with ham, mushrooms, in a cream sauce - very hot and tasty. Honey lemon tea is lightly sweetened and hot.
