Value Village

I still love to shop here but they have two specific departments that are astronomically overpriced; clothing and books! I donated some dresses I no longer wore that I myself bought at another used goods shop (Goodwill in the states) for five bucks a piece, only to find that my USED DRESSES were tagged anywhere from $18 to $30 per dress! My god, what?! And then books; if it's kids books then you're alright as those tend to be cheap, but any other kind of book? You pay a percentage of the original, NEW PRICE. I picked up a book that was sold by its original retailer for $9 on sale because it apparently did not sell at its $18 new, but that tag was rubbed over with a permanent marker and the only other visible price was its new pricing of $18. Value Village wanted me to pay around $7-$9 for this book based on its original $18 retail. I'm not going to pay that much for a used book, I don't care if it teaches me how to cook ambrosia. I can't believe I can walk in and get wall furnishings, small vacuums, place settings, and even some electronics cheaper than I can an increasingly outdated (thanks to the internet) BOOK.

Great selection but too often way over priced. Staff for the most part are friendly and helpful. Worth visiting but can't give 5 stars due to pricing.

Love this place tho you must be aware of prices. Some items priced well above new item and these are donated yet over priced.

Love Value Village!! Great deals and great staff!! I love how tgey pay Diabetes Canada per pound for evry donation made! Their Get 2 Give and FUNdrive programs are great assets for our community. Yes some thing do get over priced but talk to an MOD they'll glad adjust the price if needed. For such a small team of people who sort atleast 10000 items a day they do an amazing job!!!
