Est. in 2005 by Chef Stephen Gardner with one priority: provide whole food to the masses in a sustainable fashion. We started as a small cafe in Kensington Market and have since opened 2 other major locations. It is our priority to offer customers food made from scratch without the compromise of ingredients that you can't pronounce.

A must see for anyone who loves to eat healthy, and tip your server! Must have: the salad bowls. So much awesomeness, but bring 30 bucks to eat like royalty. Good ideas too! Would invest in UH cookbook?

If you are looking for either an amazing burger or bowls, this is the place. Their burgers are another level, absolutely delicious! Also the place is quite cozy and green.

The Rhino Bowl here is hands down the best bowl in the city. Not just in terms of taste, but also value. Has never disappointed!

Urban Herbivore is my all time favourite vegan restaurant. The sandwiches, grain bowls, salads, soups and juices all look, smell and taste delicious. The owner, Stephen Gardner paved the way for our city's "you can make friends with salad" whole food vegan movement.

Great menu. Healthy, delicious, and diverse. Lovely, friendly and helpful staff.

I would 100% go back here the next time I am in Toronto. My friend and i had a great meal. The "Shickan" is very good! Good service. The salad was also very nice.
