Uptown Guelph Dental

Not to thrilled about Uptown Guelph Dental. My son and daughter began their dental visits back in July 2017. Everything seemed fine. Nice atmospheres, polite staff. Things like that. But after August 31st 2017 things didnt seem all that fantastic. My son and daughter had some serious dental issues, well according to the dental program their school is apart of. So after some time we search around and found Uptown Dental after doing a quick google search. There wasnt much information on the Guelph location but we opted to try it out. We filled all the paper work and my son and daughter started having some dental work done. Everything was fine until August 31, 2017. Payment issue. Uptown Guelph Dental process payments from my insurance. Even though we were approved for Healthy Smiles. The dental office explaied that it was Healthy Smiles policy. Uptown Dental believes that the policy is when another insurance policy is available then Healthy Smiles becomes invalid. When in actuality Healthy Smiles is valid until its expiry date. When I explained that to them and that Healthy Smiles was aware of when my insurance was activated and we were still approved until February 2018 Uptown changed it back. Well only to process August 31st bill. And we couldn't book the next appointment until Healthy Smiles sends the payment. Which apparently happen only once a month at the end of the month. We werent too worried. We thought end of sept wasnt to long of a wait. We were so wrong. Heres my main issue. Possibably the most important problem. As of August 31st 2017 we were not able to book an appointment for my daughter. My son was done with all is appointments. The issue is the dentist explained that my daughter had to remove two of her teeths because of decay. Obviously we dont want our child to have any more dental issues so we agreed to have the teeth removed. Then according to the dentsist she had to get space maintainers for one of the tooth. We were told if these maintainers were not in place within three months, the other teeths will merge and take up the space. Now how were we going to get these maintainers put in if we couldnt book an appointment. Nonetheless we waited After the the second week of September I called Healthy Smiles to inquire about the payment and payment process. To my surprise they payment was processed and sent with the August batch of payments. The lady i spoke with said that depending on mail traffic Uptown Dental should have already recieved payment or will within the week. I was happy, one less thing to worry about. I called Uptown Guelph Dental and explained what i wss told. The secretary told me that it was not possible because usually takes a month but she will keep an eye out for it. Spetember 30th 2017. I call Healthy Smiles and i get the exact same information from them. Payment was sent out and accepted. Call Uptown Guelph Dental same story again. They did not recieve anything. So this time i asked to speak with the dentist or manager. I got the dentist assistant. She told me the same thing. I reminded her of the severity of the issue. She said that there was a pile of mail and she would look through it and hopefully they payment is there. It apparently wasnt. I continued to call about once every couple of weeks. Still the same answer. The last time i called was towards the end of October. How? Why? Two months and still the same "sorry we never recieved the payment" bit. Really?! We never thought that Uptown Dental would avoid booking an appointment. Specially after Healthy Smiles confirmed payment was sent and received. They finally called last week (voicemail). The dental assistant said the dentist was worried and wanted to see my daughter in January. 4! MONTHS LATER. Seriously! NO THANK YOU. As you can tell my family didnt have the best exprience with Uptown Guelph Dental.

Professional and accommodating Dental Office. The Front Office Staff do everything possible to answer all questions and requests. The Dentists and Hygienists make you feel comfortable and their work is excellent. I would recommend Uptown Guelph Dental to anyone looking for dental care for adults and children.

This place is amazing they make you feel so comfortable and work with you with appointments and payments, I would highly recommend this place. Took my daughter last week to the dentist for the first time and made sure she was happy and laughing and not scary at all great place for all ages.

I used to be afraid to go to the dentist and I've been going to this location for YEARS. It's changed hands a few times but who cares? The receptionists are AMAZING! They're so professional. Don't get braces here though. The dentist that does them is rude and not deserving of your hard earned money.

Fantastic dental office, very friendly. Had two old root canals fixed from a diffrent office, and I never felt a thing.
