Story

St. Michael’s is today Canada’s leading Catholic university, offering programs in Book and Media Studies, Celtic Studies, Christianity and Culture, Mediaeval Studies as well as the SMC One: Cornerstone program. At the graduate level the university's Faculty of Theology offers both basic and advanced degree programs.

Our campus is home to St. Basil’s Church, the Kelly Library, the Canadian Catholic Bioethics Institute and the Pontifical Institute of Mediaeval Studies.

Our undergraduate students receive their degrees from the University of Toronto, one of the world’s great universities. But they also get to experience the intimacy, sense of community and spiritual atmosphere of a Catholic liberal arts college.

Mission

St. Michael's seeks to provide an environment that fosters the intellectual, moral and spiritual development of its members. It encourages an understanding and respect for the teachings of the gospel in line with the great Catholic intellectual tradition.
