AVOID UCW AT ANY COST! I applied as an international student and paid for my tuition, but unfortunately, a few days after I arrived in Vancouver, I felt overwhelmed because it was my first time traveling abroad, and I missed my family and my country so much. So I tried to reach UCW for advice, and they just told me that I should withdraw from my courses and ask for a refund request. So that’s what I did. I reviewed all the terms and conditions to ask for a refund, and I carefully followed the steps that were required. I sent every single document that they requested, and they just refused my refund request without giving me any reason, and I’ve tried to contact them through several emails, and they are no longer responding to me. They just took advantage of my vulnerability and kept my 4500 CAD for themselves. YOU HAVE TO AVOID THIS UNIVERSITY! They don’t care about you and your feelings.
EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCEnnMy brother completed the full application process and paid the tuition deposit. Right before issuing the PAL, the university suddenly rescinded the application — without a clear explanation.nnFor over a month, we received conflicting emails. Some counselors Florence, Priyanka Kumari, Sindhujan Nadaraja said they would help with deferral. Admissions Bala Pranay, Sai Prasana, Arshdeep Singh, James Rahul gave contradictory responses — one day suggesting deferral, the next pushing for a refund.nnNo clarity. No accountability. No coordination.nnWhen students’ finances and visa timelines are at stake, this level of mismanagement is unacceptable. Proceed with caution.
My experience at University Canada West today was beyond unacceptable. It was a complete display of incompetence, disrespect, and failed management.nnI had a scheduled appointment. Not a walk-in. A scheduled time. And yet, I waited for over two hours without being attended. I was not alone, there were more than 20 students in the exact same situation, all with confirmed appointments, all being ignored.nnAt exactly 4:00 PM, instead of honoring the appointments they themselves scheduled, the staff simply forced everyone who had not been seen to leave. No proper explanation, no attempt to resolve the issue, not even a basic apology. Just a cold dismissal, as if our time had no value.nnLet’s be very clear: this was the final day of a deadline imposed by the university. If you set a deadline, it is your responsibility to ensure you have the operational capacity to handle it. Having only two employees available to serve dozens of students is not just poor planning, it is pure negligence.nnThis is not just “bad service.” This is a systemic failure. It reflects an institution that is clearly unprepared for the number of students it admits, and completely incapable of managing its own processes.nnStudents are paying thousands in tuition fees, and in return, they are treated with disregard, inefficiency, and a shocking lack of professionalism.nnFrankly, this situation is embarrassing. It raises serious concerns about how this university operates as a whole.nnIf this is how students are treated when they follow the rules and show up on time, it says everything about the standards of this institution.
I had a disappointing experience at this university. In my opinion, there is a stronger focus on student quantity rather than the quality of education or overall student experience.nnOne of the biggest issues I faced was the lack of transparency around fees. The information provided on the website was significantly different from what I actually ended up paying, which was much higher.nnAdditionally, I did not find the institution to be supportive of students when issues arose.nnThe campus environment also did not match my expectations of a diverse, multicultural Canadian university. It felt quite homogeneous, which limited the overall student experience.nnif you want to study in India but can’t afford it, this university is the best optionnnOverall, I would not recommend this university. The only positive aspect worth mentioning is well-maintained and clean
I would not recommend this university to international students.nIn my experience, when students go to the Registrar's Office for help, their concerns are often not properly addressed. Staff members may say they cannot help and sometimes do not provide the necessary support with course registration. The service can feel unhelpful and dismissive, and students' problems are not always listened to carefully.nAs an international student, I expected better guidance and support. Based on my experience, I would advise prospective international students to carefully consider these issues before choosing this university.
