U-Haul Moving & Storage of N Vancouver

Booked a truck online more than a week before my move. All good. Then, uhaul called me less than 24hrs before my move time and said they had ZERO trucks available for me. No sizes. No trucks. Not even a Van. They completely screwed me over and I was left with no way to empty my storage facility or move into my new place. They had a full week to tell me they had no trucks available for me, they didn’t call me at all. I will never use U-Haul again. I found their competitor Discount Rentals was FAR more helpful and less than half the price, and they helped me the day uhaul screwed me.

I called them the morning i was picking up the van asking if they have free parking for customers's vehicles untill they return the van and they said YES we do. When I went there, they said you have to look for a parking on the street !!! It took me 10 minutes to find a parking which was 10min walk away from the store. When I asked them why did you tell me you have free parking available for your customesrs, they told me sometimes when the store line is busy you will be redirected to automatically to a store in the US where they do have free parking! Funniest answer i have ever heared in my life! I gave 2 star rate because everything else was normal , the van was ok and the return process was easy

I have used them twice. Called early, booked and had a good experience. No problem, normal customer service. Fast take and even faster drop off.

I don't know if this location has new management or they really revamped everything but the employees really go above and beyond. I figured I would self checkout as I didn't want to wait in line, and the attendant continually offered help. On the return they offered to input the vehicle before I could start the app. Thanks for the great service.

For tow hitch installation: In June, 2017, after a horrible experience at Port Moody, where I booked online, got there and they don't even install on Sunday's, I was leery about U-haul but was recommended by someone to the North Van location. I booked an appointment for the weekend but they called to say their mechanic that installs was in hospital and didn't have anyone to replace him as yet. Their phone answering system is a bit dodgy as I wasn't sure if I was talking to someone at the location or the answering service. However, despite everything, they managed to fit me in, on short notice at that point. Victor and his team told me it would take longer than normal to install the hitch as they were training. They called and were upfront about having to add a part to attach the 7-way in an accessible location, which I appreciated. While I was waiting the desk staff were pleasant. I saw them drive my car to the lot, hook up a trailer and test the lights etc. When I had paid, they also took me out to show me that everything was working before I left. I have since towed my trailer 4-5 times, including camping on gravel roads and everything works great! Thanks team!!!
