The food all tasted like it was from a can or box and was served on paper plates with disposable silverware which made the whole place feel overpriced and honestly kind of trashy. One meal for one person was $30. One coffee and pancakes. Absolutely not worth.
I was surprised by this little place that apparently is a bar at nights. I ordered the cold Queen Bee which was delicious. The lady who took my order was super nice and took really giod care of me and my order with different recommendations. I totally reccomend this place over any other chain.
They use Dark Matter Coffee which is my fave so I knew I was going to love this place. Also, highly recommend their matcha lavender latte. So good! Their pastries can be better hence the 4-stars. Cool vibe inside, and very chill!
Great coffee and atmosphere. Surprisingly the chairs by the bar area and the windows are very very comfortable. The coffee is good here. I enjoy coming here. Definitely coming back and back.
Stopped here on my way to the conference center because it was freezing out and the idea of hot tea was very appealing... I ordered a Calm and Collected, a lavender and green tea latte, listed on their Specialties board. Giving this place 5 stars for its cool hipster low key ambience, that's perfect for laptop-work, studying, or a first coffee date... and 3 stars for "specialty" tea that's too sweet, made from powders in a jar, and costs $6 before tip and tax... If I ever return for the cool hipster ambiance, I'll try their regular coffee or tea, or a wine +;
Good coffee, reasonably priced.Service: 5/5
Great spot to get some studying done, if you go upstairs. But the cafe prices are ridiculous. I paid $8 for a London Fog, that’s tea with milk and a lump of vanilla— the price doesn’t make much sense.
I recommend go to Intelligentsia if you want to have a good coffee in Chicago. If you want to drink delicious coffee with cozy atmosphereI recommend this place. But, this is a story of "the past". The employee did not listen to my order till the end, did not ask about the receipt, and eventually gave me the wrong coffee. Of course I kept waiting to get the coffee I ordered at first. My heart was uncomfortable, but the coffee was delicious. I hope this is the only time this is happening. The good cafe is to maintain a steady state and condition. I gave five stars in Yelp, but it is no longer so...
Great spot whether you're from the neighborhood or staying at Virgin Hotel or other close-by properties. Coffee and croissants were both top-notch!
The place is very cozy and coffee is ok, but the truly horrible pastries spoil the impression — heavy, dense and tasteless. It is a shame that such baked goods are still around.
