We went for brunch, the food was full of flavour and tasty. The tofu was delicious and the Bombay sandwich was even better. Definitely need to try the evening menu on my next visit. Highly recommend! Vegetarian options: Fully Vegan restaurant. Dietary restrictions: Fully vegan restaurant Parking: Plenty of parking and well worth the walk. Kid-friendliness: Bring the kids Wheelchair accessibility: Yes it is
Different experience. A small cozy place and was completely busy. The owner of the place Abhishek was on wheels serving every table and explaining about every single dish calmly. It was my first time trying out vegan and it’s not so bad. It cannot definitely match the taste of non veg, but it definitely a good try. The vegan shrimp looked and felt and almost tasted the same as original shrimp. Jackfruit might not be the one for everyone but the biriyani was definitely good. Elaneer payasam was good too. Channa masala was very good too Vegetarian options: It’s a vegan place
I recently dined at Tula restaurant, and it was an exceptional experience! This place boasts an outstanding menu with a wide variety of dishes. The Tikka masala and Biryani were standout choices, bursting with incredible flavors. And when it came to dessert, the payasam was a delightful treat. However, the Biryani was the highlight of my meal – an absolute must-try. I was so impressed with Tula that I couldn't resist returning for a second visit during my 3-day trip. This restaurant is a gem, and I'll definitely be back again. Highly recommended!
Wonderful experience dining at Tula during our trip to Montreal! The food was delicious - I enjoyed the Asian Style Salad and the Grandma's Special Curry. I *think* my husband had the Vegan Butter Chicken - can't recall for sure but photos are attached. I had a delicious iced tea as well. I believe it was the owner who was working and served us and he was so very kind and clearly passionate about what he does. Ambiance in the restaurant was very nice as well. We will definitely be going back to Tula next time we are in Montreal.
We were already a big fan of their restaurant in Toronto and now Tula added to our list of favorite restaurants!! The food is just too good and Abhishek’s friendliness is a cherry on top! We will be keep coming back again and again for sure!!
Went for the late lunch and they were kind to accommodate us! The most wonderful food that reminds of home cooking, balanced spices and bringing in elements of various Indian regional food flavors! Vegan and delicious!Food: 5/5
Tula is hands down the best Indian restaurant in Montreal. The food is delicious and the ambience is super cozy! I’ve by now probably tried everything on the menu and haven’t had a single dish that wasn’t good. My all time favourite’s though are masala chai, sukku, mango lassi, Bombay sandwich, brunch platter, and elaneer paysam!
It would greatly benefit the place if they invested in some better seats, tables, plates, cups, and cutlery. Seriously, everything felt like it came straight from IKEA's bargain section, including those uncomfortable outdoor patio tables and chairs. The whole atmosphere just put a damper on the experience. To top it off, my friend ordered a drink for about $9, and it came in a flimsy paper cup. I get that the restaurant is new and all, but considering the prices they charge for vegan food, they really need to step up their game when it comes to customer comfort. To make matters worse, they initially sat us at a table near the downstairs bathroom, and the smell was just unbearable. We had to move ourselves because we couldn't stomach the smell while eating. Now, let's talk about the food itself. The biryani was amazing, hands down one of the best I've had. We also tried a bunch of curries, which were decent, but nothing mind-blowing, especially considering the price. Oh, and we ordered this tofu scramble thing, and it was pretty bad. Definitely not recommending that. Overall, I'd come back here with my vegan friends, mainly for the biryani, but they seriously need to address the seating situation.
This was not only the best vegan Indian food we’ve ever tasted… but also the best Indian food we’ve ever had!! Every dish we tried was remarkably tasty. You could identify each spice used in these family recipes. The owner Abhi took the time to explain what each dish was and what his personal favorites were. He was so warm, kind and community driven, focused on promoting plant-based, accessible eating for all. The atmosphere was beautiful — from the aromas to the music, this was a lovely meal. This will 100% be our first stop when we’re back in Montreal or maybe sooner for brunch this week. Try the Chicken Biryani with the Mango Lassi - you won’t regret it. I’d highly recommend Tula to every local and every tourist in Montreal. You don’t want to sleep on this gem. Thank you to Abhi and his wonderful staff! Also side note: encourage him to open his next restaurant in NYC… please!
Our table ordered a multitude of dishes and shared absolutely everything. The owner, who was also one of our servers, was incredibly friendly and made many excellent recommendations. We could really feel his passion for his food.Food: 5/5
