Beautiful spot. We had a small queen room. Great view from the balcony. No AC and no TV. Great opening windows and a fan for good air circulation. The bed and pillows were wonderful. The grounds are beautiful, and the restaurant is really good. Great price for a great location. We will be back!!
I ate at their restaurant almost exclusively once I found it. The seafood soup was one of the best soups I’ve ever had. The prime rib and Yorkshire pudding and vegetables were perfection. Even the horseradish was hot. The mussels were exotic and in an absolutely delicious sauce. The service was informative and cheerful, and delivered some excellent cocktails.
We stopped for breakfast here and wow! Beautiful view off the deck and the food was incredible. We even complimented the chef and he came out to talk with us. Then when he left everyone on the deck applauded him, so we obviously weren't the only ones impressed with our breakfast.Service: 5/5
Went for dinner just after 5 when they opened. Asked to sit outside and was told they are not serving outside tonight but yet 30 minutes later the restaurant was nowhere near full and they seated a party the same size as us on the patio. Order calamari and scallops for appetizers. The scallops were a small portion but both were excellent tasting. The mains were Halibut and Thai Curry with prawns. Both had ZERO flavour and the Thai curry had no sauce and the 4prawns were small and rang up an additional $10 . It seems almost impossible to make food with such little flavor. Total disappointment for $35-$40 plates.
I stayed at the Tsa Kwa Luten Lodge over a long weekend while on a solo trip to the Pacific Northwest. I’ve traveled to many places across the globe, and this little known spot on Quadra Island is arguably the most beautiful place I’ve ever visited. The lodge itself is rich with indigenous art, the rooms are comfortable, and the views are breathtaking. As other people have mentioned in their reviews, the rooms do not have TVs. However, this isn’t the type of place you visit to be cooped up indoors watching television! For anyone that loves hiking, wildlife, or learning more about First Nations as we all should!, you are in for an amazing experience.
Flash visit...2, WaY short days! My son & I stayed in the waterfront cabins bookended by really, really nice neighbours. All from far away Courtenay, BC,. Warren, Steve, and ESPECIALLY my new nice friend, Eric@6 deserve exceptional mention. Gotta love islanders. Nothing but blue skies ahead for that young fella, I predict! The cabin was lovely, a bit quaint & dated, to its CReDiT . Perfectly clean and maintained, fully practical for up to six w/pullout. Overwhelming any whine-ee baby thoughts one might entertain on that front was the wall art. Of course I didn't CLiK it...please extend me a little trust here; it is just BeOoooTeeeeFuLL! More geographically and locality centered and beyond a beautiful vaulted ceiling, craft built retreat for a lobby lies dining room, patio & truly excellent...breakfasts!I'm so sorry, but the only meal we shared here was an AM FeaST of the first order, at a very reasonable $14 b4 tip I MuST say! Oh, man, I simply don't want to spoil it by extolling more about anything but the perfect blackberry adorning the fruit cup. All hail in-season, local cuisine. The Indigenous nature of the place and the placement of the lodge within its context is extraordinary and palpable; begging one simply to breathe it in. Oh, did not mention the big draw? The cabins are set on Mudge Point. It's a super kayak launch or whatnot. Super easy Ebike touring base, absolutely the best self powered play zone a casual visitor might ask for, I think. The cobble beach yields pictographs, the kelp grove? just offshore enticed visits from sea lions and human dive harvesters; both intent on the sea urchins, I suspect. Staff was seasonally minimal though VeRY professional, informed and informative. We were here during the second week of Sept. I got a peacefuleasy feelingI think you will, too!
The seafood chowder is to die for! Sitting outside, watching whales, enjoying the view and the sunshine, wow!! What a beautiful lodge and retreat centre.
This place is located perfectly, best place to stay in town and enjoy nature, but there is no TV in room and no Microwave, which they could provide in the amount of rent they are charging from Customers
We ate Tapas on the patio ! It was a beautiful Autumn afternoon overlooking the straight. Good times! Gi ana kaci!Service: 5/5
