Tropical Inn

I’d give no stars if I could. Room was too hot, muggy, and smelled musty and of chlorine. Service from the front desk was poor. When we complained and asked if we could move rooms but we were told there was nothing available although there were no cars in the parking lot and rooms available on Expedia. My daughter couldn’t even be in the room without sweating but they offered to give us a small oscillating fan so that speaks to the customer service. We did not spend the night and left without being refunded.

After quite a terrible drive in bad road conditions, a kind hearted and empathetic host was just what I needed. The next morning went just as smoothly since the hostess knew about the later check out time. Kindness goes a long way and I wont soon forget how good this experience was. It is also worth noting that the room was excellent.

If you’re staying here in winter, don’t book a poolside room. It’s 25° in here, must be why it’s called tropical. The staff is lovely and offered us a fan but really it’s just blowing dry hot air on us making it hard to sleep. $50 dinner for two was among the worst meals I’ve ever had. Might have to order a bottle of wine and drink until I pass out. Gonna be a shrivelled dry prune by morning.

This place was very sketchy. The staff were really nice, but the place itself was very odd. The room stunk like smoke and people were smoking pot in the room next door. The slides were the best part. The pool was right outside of a restaurant with giant windows for the people at the restaurant to stare at you which was awkward. It was hard to find the event we went to attend in the hotel.

I have some quiet memories with tropical inn I'm staying here right now and I've stayed here a couple of times and the rooms are Lowk sketchy but nice I like the location and the service is quite eh the food is delicious and I love going on the water slide but we also right now on October 4th we found a freaking Maple bug under the bed and stains on the pillow.
