A great park for a quick dog walk or break from the city bustle. Interesting layout. Very fragrant. Cool little amphitheater feature. There’s also an information plaque that explains the various plants and gardens kept up by a non-profit group EartHand Gleaners. Good toddler playground with a spongy surface - so no skinned knees. A substantial sporting field with soccer goals is directly adjacent - with astroturf, bathrooms, dressing rooms, and lighting for night use. A nice discovery in East Vancouver / Strathcona. Street parking available. Enjoy!
A new park in Strathcona which has two large soccer fields that is always popular. There is also a new playground with rubber ground, a grass area, a garden and washrooms. The park offers something for everyone. The south end consists of two synthetic turf fields that are used for field hockey, soccer and ultimate, with a perimeter walking path. The fields are lit and are heavily used by the local community and for tournaments. The north end of the park consists of a playground, amphitheatre, lawn area, meadows, rain gardens, community plaza, covered multi-use park shelter and harvest bench. It is a venue for many neighbourhood events, and where art and environmental education can be demonstrated. Some areas of Trillium Park North meadows, rain gardens have been naturalized. This requires new approaches to design and maintenance. Naturalized areas are environmentally sustainable. They are not mowed, fertilized or irrigated and don't look like typical manicured parks. They include a diversity of plants, including native plants that provide habitat for bees and other pollinators, are used for producing weaving material, dyes and artwork, and create a learning environment for schoolchildren and the community. This 3.05 hectare site within the False Creek Flats has undergone a major transformation through the years. Originally tidal mud flats, the area had been filled in and used as a railway yard in the 1930’s and ultimately purchased for park purposes in the 1990’s. A master plan was subsequently developed, identifying the site for the construction of two synthetic sports fields along with a passive park on the north end of the park. This site underwent environmental remediation and preloading for several years prior to the beginning of park construction in 2009. The synthetic sports fields were completed in 2010 and the washrooms/change rooms were completed in the following year. The remaining northern portion of the site, approximately 1ha, was completed in 2014.
An excellent newer park. I brought my children for picnic and playground as there is a good washroom. Unfortunately, the washroom isn't clean, and we found a guy living? in the washroom....
Best kept secret if you're looking for a quieter park. The playground is new, the landscaping is interesting and educational. My kid loves to explore the sports fields. There are bathrooms and I always see the city Parks team around making sure things are clean and nice.
Service wasnt good. The girl working there was acting like we are forcing her to do things. Pizza was ok. Could be cooked a little more. The dough still soggy. Overall not what I expected from previous visits years ago!
Beware of Needles. Great artificial turf field and well maintained. Playground and bathrooms on site. However, please be careful and do a quick look around for needles in and around the playground and bathrooms before letting your kids play there. Needles and drug paraphernalia is a common sight.
Field is pretty good but the environment is not very good. While walking, can smell drugs and see needles. Parks board should do more to clean up around kids soccer fields.
Great location for our rugby jamboree. It’s a clean and well laid out set of pitches. And the backdrop is pretty great too!
They are functional and central facilities. Although it does not have its own car park, it is expected that the city hall will not charge for parking.
Beautiful field to play
