The park itself is handy but is small and conducive to getting very dusty and muddy in the rain. Water is available but shut off in the winter. One side is for smaller dogs the other for larger dogs separated by a gate you can close or leave open. Have met some other nice owners and dogs but be mindful of what's going on. Some owners let their dog go then sit on the bench and stare at their phone the whole time. Have found owner discipline hit or miss.

The park site (sometimes refered to as Hinge Park, but not yet officially named) includes a rainwater wetland, play park for children, benches, grass and picnic areas. A dog off-leash area is located within a fenced area in the northwest corner of the park. The park includes a rainwater wetland with native plants that will slowly naturalize. Picnic tables, benches and docks dot the landscape. A large children's play area has state-of-the-art play equipment, a story circle, a big rusty bridge constructed from sewer pipe and a water pump with metal runnels at the top of a small hill. It is a park for children to explore and for adults to quietly enjoy. A dog off-leash area is located within a fenced area in the northwest corner of the park. The park was created as part of the 2010 Winter Games Athletes Village at Southeast False Creek. The former industrial land was transformed into a complete community and includes Creekside Community Recreation Centre, housing and commercial space.

I take my dog here often to burn off some energy before puppy classes. The enclosed dog park is really tidy and clean except after some rain. Puddles tend to form here and there so beware of mud and if your puppy hasn't has his proper shots. The other dog owners here are all really responsible and friendly, always on the ready to help the under dog out =)

Hinging on Genius: ( only time will tell - we must way 20 yrs) - a model of urban revival from the wreckage of post industrial toxicity ... it’s an Eden Phoenix risen from the ashes - a prime example of modern 21century environmental sustainability & waterfront shoreline reclaimed along with public open space making for the adjacent Urbanity - C’est très très Européan. On dois visitez! Right along SE False Creek’s Seawall Promenade/cycle/running path Spectacular views to downtown from Vancouver’s Athletes’ Village for 2010Winter Olympic Games - now turns into a swish tiny mixed use LEED Platinum “Green-City” par excellence. La pièce de la resistance? Habitat Island - C’est magnifique. Wonderfully creative landscape design extremely forward thinking with complete rehabilitation & daylighting of salmon streams/water fowl duck 🦆 ponds, football/soccer field , kiddie jungle gym playground with swings & enclosed off leash doggie area (so Fido can run free without chasing the birds!) l love it here. ... I return several times seasonally it’s always different. I love it here - it’s very richly peppered & spiced with artful industrial era artifacts and tracings of old railway tracks, you sneak around & you’ll discover it all in your own. Anyone needing to visualize “green” , “Sustainability “ concepts in action - then come here. Anyone from out of town working in Landscape Architecture, Urban Landscape Economic, Earth Sciences/Environmentalism & Civic Planning Professions ... it’s a must see Mecca pilgrimage.
