Travelodge Houghton

Many might think this place needs a renovation which is under way, but I've always loved this hotel. Nice pool/hot tub/sauna. Clean room. Decent breakfast or hard boiled eggs, ceral, donuts etc. Excellent location downtown, and the upper floors have a nice view of the ski hill and old copper mine on the Hancock side. Always my first choice in Houghton.

The only plus side I can find about this place is that it was decently clean. Absolutely NO WHERE to park near the hotel. They allowed guests with dozens of snowmobiles to take up all of the close parking spaces, so we my husband,my 2 yr old, 3 month old and me had to park almost a quarter of a mile away from the hotel in 10 degree weather. Food stains on the curtain in our room, dirt marks on the walls etc. Sheets seemed clean. No coffee ready in the morning. It cost $90 to stay here, worth about $40. For $90 go stay at the super 8 same price and EONS nicer and guest accommodating.

Hotel was clean. It's actually just an old motel that they put a front surrounding on that was made of plastic "windows" so the hallways were freezing cold in the winter. Also you hear people as the walked by outside your room but it was a good place to stay for cheap.

Housekeeping was terrible, we had to get new or updated keys daily, the first room we were in on the 4th floor smelled so bad we requested a different room and then my sister's room next door to us in 304 smelled so bad for cat urine it made your eyes burn. After continued requests to correct her problem someone finally brought up an air purifier. We asked to speak with management several times and had to request that they take our information so management could get back to us. Management never showed up. The hotel is run down and water damaged.

The travellodge is family operated. They have a great staff team. The owners are loving kind honest people. Best place to stay. Clean rooms and a pool and sauna and hot tub. Great place to lay your head down and relax. Can't find a better place to be..

Awful room! Something brown on ceiling! Very few towels. Odd smell in room. No garbage bags in cans. Shower was dirty. Gross just gross! Not worth $153 for sure!

This is now a Quality Inn...good, clean, basic rooms. The remodeling was effective, nice lighting & amenities. Nice pool & sauna. Service is top notch, everyone on staff is friendly & helpful!

The Travelodge is my favorite place to stay in Houghton. I love that it is right in town, directly across the street from both my favorite shop and restaurant. It is a little quirky, and some of the rooms aren't that great, but I always stay in one of the King rooms on the 4th or 5th floors. They have a great view of town and the Portage. You can't beat the location!

Nice, clean. Friendly staff, they upgraded our room as a courtesy. Highly recommended if you're in Houghton.

I used the pool and hot tub. Great service, both were nice to use. The lighting in the hall is funky, but otherwise it's nice.
