I would like to commend you for absolutely rigidly enforced no backpack rule, particularly by one fair haired shop assistant in the clothing area. She knows no obstacles in fulfilling her mission!nAlas, I wandered in in my way to Bulk Barn, as i often do, with a mesh see-through reusable shopping bag, but it has back pack straps so that i can shop hands free, and i didn’t realize i had run afoul of your policy!nI was reading the specifications on your river running kayaks, dreaming of better days when my husband bought his kayak at your previous location, and hoping to score a nice new paddling top in your clearance rack when your shop assistant accosted me. I was quite off in my own world so i didn’t really hear her first words to me and mistakenly thought she was trying to see if i needed any assistance. She explained your policy and how it was no exceptions. I told her i didn’t think my mesh bag would be an issue as it is clearly empty but her sparkling wit prevailed here and she rejoined with “but will it be empty on your way out?”.nAha! She had me there! I was going to probably buy something i didn’t need. Well spotted!nAfter looking at the mens section, i realized that i hated to be so predictable and went to leave, but she again shared her wonderful sense of humour and said “OH! Not buying a boat today, then?”. What a mind reader! Do not ever let her go!nThey say no one wants to work anymore but i truly believe you get what you pay for! As for me, I’ll have to settle for the cheaper kayaks on Amazon for my next purchase so at least i can be less predictable.nCheers,nLenanPhoto of the kayak we purchased from the former location top red
Knowledgeable staff. Large selection of items. Appreciated the time spent to help me buy the best Kayak paddle. It was an excellent choice. They really do honour their price guarantee. As a new paddler I am glad there is such a great specialty store here in Ottawa.
The owner personally handled a warranty claim and got me on new skis in no time. I am very pleased with the great service they offered me. would buy again!
I recently bought new cross country skis at this shop. Carrie was extremely helpful in making a recommendation for a beginner ski, sizing out multiple options, and explaining the differences between the various options. Carrie took extra time to size multiple boot options and provide a recommendation on ski polls. She made choosing a pair of skis extra exciting and stress free.
I placed an order online for some larger items and was very pleasantly surprised when they still honoured free shipping. I also bought some items that were buy 3 get 1 free. When I received my order across the country one of the items was missing.nI checked my email and had been contacted that my item was out of stock, and I would be refunded - however it happened to be the free item. I emailed customer service, and they immediately sent a replacement item.nSo happy to have found this company, and look forward to purchasing from them again.
