I would not normally write a review on a hospital, but I feel like I have to. My mother is currently in there after lung surgery. From the parking lot attendant to the information desk, Dr. Pierre- her surgeon, the anaesthesiologist and all of the nurses on 6B ….EVERYONE has been absolutely amazing with the care of my mother. This entire team of caregivers have gone above and beyond, not only for my mother, but also with myself and the many questions I have had. Witnessing some of the patients and visitors that they have to deal with and accommodate, I commend all of these people. I truly appreciate this hospital and everyone who I have come into contact with here.nYou make a difference and I feel it in my heart and soul. Thank you.
I was here for the Arrival Location:nNorman Urquhart Wing, 12th and I entered from the street car , walked upto the main building the reception guided me to use the yellow line on the floor to go to the 12 floornnThe elevator premises and the washroom are very clean , the guidance is nice !
Great location, good hospital, very clean and for sure many fantastic Doctors like to visit Gift shops
I visited TGH yesterday evening for a MRI scan. I was dropped off at the Gerrard Entrance. One is to get lost in the complexity of the hospital to find a way to MRI. The security was very courteous in giving instructions, the receptionist was cheerful in registering me for the scheduled appointment. Female staff from MRI were kind and friendly in preparing me for the MRI.They also helped in taking me on a wheel chair to the emergency entrance for me to picked up by wheel trans. I would like to thank all staff at TGH, specially the female staff from MRI who was kind enough to take me in the wheel chair all the way to exit entrance.nI was overwhelmed by their sense of duty and kindness shown to a disabled patient. Thank you
I was brought to this hospital by ambulance last winter. A nurse had taken me from the ambulance bay into a waiting room where they drew my blood and started me on an IV which was left in my arm for six hours while I was sitting in a chair. After waiting 8 hours the nurse told my partner to bring me to the X-ray room through a hall with no lights at all, and we were yelled at by the staff for lingering when we were lost in a dark empty hall. This is NOT accessible for people with disabilities!nWhen I was let into the X-ray room the technician told me that I was not checked in and got mad AT ME!! I had arrived in a catatonic state, and my partner had to explain to her that we had been directed here and that we had no idea why I had not been check in. I am not a wheelchair user but I had to use a wheelchair that night and it was incredibly hard to navigate and receive X-rays because the technician made no accommodations to help me stand.nnWhen we returned to the waiting area we went to clarify the problem with the singular staff member and check the wait times to see a doctor and they said that they couldn’t find me as a patient because I had never been checked in. They provided no instruction on how to fix this issue, and did not offer any help for their mistake. The nurse also told me that there was *no doctor on call for the floor*, and that I would have to wait for one to arrive in an additional *six hours*!!!nnI decided to leave because the staff refused to check me in after 9 hours of waiting and stated that they could not gaurantee that I would eventually receive care or my test results back because I had never been checked in. But they somehow still charged me for my ambulance!nnFurthermore, I had some concerns with the staff. Not only did they forget to check me in, they were incredibly rude and unhelpful. My nurse was also handling my iv with dirty hands as I had just seen her eating dorito chips at her desk before touching me and my iv.nnAdditionally, I was loaded into the ambulance without shoes and the staff were very condescending when I asked for snow-boot booties or anything that would help me get home in the winter!nnThis was by far the most dehumanizing experience I have ever had with the medical system. The people who run this hospital, from the executive team to triage nurses should be ashamed of how they treat patients.
