Tongue River Reservoir State Park

Great place to camp and fish. If you camp at Sandy Point you can be closer to the beach but during high water levels some camp sites in all campgrounds could be closed or soggy. The marina and store have all of the basics you need for those things you have forgotten plus beer, fishing accessories, bait, gas and licenses. There is also a nice little restaurant when you just don't feel like cooking. I would rate it five stars except there were several vault toilets that were padlocked shut and that made it very inconvenient for many sites and all campgrounds were nearly full to capacity. Also they restock and clean them only once per day in the morning so supplies tend to run out in the afternoon on busy days. Bring your own toilet paper! Camping fees seem quite high for nonresidents. I paid $28 per night for a primitive site. It is $34 for a site with electricity. Lastly shade trees are non-existent except in very few spots. You can reserve sites online however.

Always pretty clean area. Warm waters and have met some of the nicest people I have ever met.

Good fishing, nice campgrounds, some spots have power and there is a dump station near the marina
