Quick service but it's hard to say as there weren't many people in here when we came in for late lunch. We ordered only a few as we find the prices are more on the high end compared to others. The food was good but nothing amazing for the price you pay. Portion sizes are just right and we didnt wait very long for our food to come, which was great as we were there for a quick lunch only. It's good to have this restaurant right inside the mall if you are craving for some Chinese food that arent fast food.
Do not go to this restaurant. Do not. I repeat, if you want Chinese food dim sum, then go to a real restaurant. The experience today was: expensive price tags with small serving size, low quality, bad tasting, bad texture, extremely salty, dry meat, next day old rice or perhaps dry over cooked rice. No customer service. I honestly do not see why these call buttons exist. Malfunctioning call button at each table that serves no purpose and takes up space on the table. And they will charge you 16% tips for parties over 6 and that isn’t stated anywhere. Also Chinese tea costs money per person. This is totally against all that I know and understand of Chinese food. At a bare minimum, A Chinese food restaurant should know how to cook steamed white rice. $140 for lunch with 4 adults and left hungry, extremely disappointed, utterly disgusted this was a “dim sum” restaurant.
I love the pork shu-mai, it’s very meaty and flavorful. Make sure you ask for some chili oil, it’s the best condiment for the shu-mai. It’s my first time to try the sticky rice with minced pork, and it did not disappoint. The salt and pepper squid was enjoyable to eat The yang chow fried rice was mediocre. Service was good. Food came in reasonable time. Would definitely come back again to try other dishes.
Consider this is "mall food", I find it actually alright. I didn't come here with a high expectation but beef tendon was surprisingly tender and flavorful, the veggies were fresh. Laksa was so-so, same as the salt and pepper squid. The noodles they used here is like instant packaged ramen, not my personal favorite but they have other noodle choices. The service there was not bad, again consider they are just a mall cafe, they were responsive whenever we needed something. I think I'll go back to try some other dishes if I'm in the mall again and crave for Chinese food. Overall it's "mall" acceptable.
It's a pretty nice restaurant to start into the world of dimsum. The food is made to order, so it takes a while to come, but it's fresh and tasty. I ordered 4 items shanghai Xiao long bao, black pepper short ribs, baked bbq pork buns, beef Shu Mai dumplings . The beef Shu Mai wasn't to my liking it lackef flavour for me personally, so I really had to add a lot of soy sauce and the bread for the bbq pork buns was too sweet that it overwhelmed the bbq pork filling. Not sure if they use a different type of dough when baking it, but was quite disappointed since it was different to other baked buns I've had. Would like to try their steamed buns next time. But the rest were super delicious
Yesterday marked my last visit to this place, I used to love the taste of food there, but yesterday was awful and very runny I had the Cantonese fried noodles and it was very runny and tasted like water, my wife had the Cashew ramen it also tasted different. We also ordered their new dish Teriyaki steak it was ok but for the size, it was very expensive.
I always pass by this restaurant and thought that it wasn’t good because it’s a ‘Chinese restaurant inside a mall’. But during this Holiday rush, my wife craved for some congee and we went at Tin Tin Dimsum for the first time. It wasn’t that busy on a Tuesday evening. Lots of tables inside and there are several crews roams around the floor. Surprised that most of their prices are very cheap, especially the dimsum. We ordered the congee $13+ and the serving was enough for 2-3 person! It’s flavourful, had several pieces of meat and century egg, and just the right texture not too runny. We also had the Baked Pork Buns which I think the best pork buns in Calgary! The bread and crust were thick, crispy and buttery like a pastry. Pork fillings are tasty and not too sweet. Some pork buns in the city were hollow and too sweet to taste. We had the Pork Siu Mai too and it was Big, considering the price of $6.99 4pcs. It has an equal amount of pork and shrimp, and topped with roe. Their Shao Long Bao pork dumpling with soup inside aren’t that appetizing and there wasn’t any soup inside. But it’s still delicious and easy on the tummy, and wallet $6 for 4pcs. Overall, we really liked our experience at Tin Tin! Happy Hour 3-6pm and 9pm til close. Deals such as $4.99 beer/wine. I would definitely coming back here to try out their other dishes and have some bottle of beer
First time trying this Dim Sum place inside Chinook Mall and the food was actually very decent and quite reasonable. Very convenient for the shoppers to just scoot over to this place after a hard day of shopping… lol Favourites were Beef Ho Fun, Shrimp Spring Rolls I mean they are literally filled with whole shrimps!, Har Gow and Siu Mai. Will go back again to try some of their other offerings.
Me and my friend went here for lunch and I quite enjoy the chashu ramen. It had salty sweet flavor to it. The only downside was that lights in the flicker a lot, but it didn't last to long. The food is expensive but it is good.
We went on a Sunday around 3:30 so the restaurant wasn’t too busy. Overall the dim sum is not bad. The lava buns probably have the best filling in the city, the other I’ve tried in Calgary are way too sweet and doesn’t have the salted egg flavour. The pan fried buns were a miss though.
