We are a trucker, parked at Cabelas for the night. My husband missed this place. We had that Onion which is yummy and a Sampler for $29 that was a great choice if you wanna try there 4 kind of meat it's was really good. Great service she's funny. Love the ambiance. Clean restroom too.
Billed as The Lodge in the Heart of the City, even though it several miles outside of Rochester, it’s small city attitudes and friendliness makes a enjoyable place for an excellent dinner. While it’s rustic on the outside, it’s elegant on the inside, with a few reminders of those great hunting days mounted on the walls, almost ready to leap off. A beautiful, well-stocked bar and a cordial waitstaff works hard to be sure you have everything you need for an awesome dinner. The very ample menu has 14 appetizers, at least 5 salads, 18 dinners and pastas, 10 cuts of 21-day aged Black Angus Beef along with lots of add-ons and sides plus plenty of dessert choices. A very enjoyable experience to remember for a long time!
Good food, good service. A tad pricey but it just may be the fact everything is pricey. We had wanted to try this for a while. Not too impressed with ambiance, not a huge variety of items on the menu. Overall it was good although not enough to come back.
Food and service were excellent. Only reason I didn't give 5star on food is the sweet potato fries were a bit under done. Nash, our server, was excellent, very friendly and informative, suggesting the tri tips and they were fantastic. Nice warm rustic atmosphere, staff very friendly from the time you walk in. We'll be back, driving over an hour is worth it for date night.
Stopped here with Family on the way back to Texas . Very good Service , Food was Great at moderate pricing no Complaints. Enjoy our time here even had a few Drinks at their very nice Bar after Lunch. Highly Recommend.
I have mixed thoughts about this place. My walleye was good, but nothing special. My wife's Sunday Special prime rib was a little on the tough side. And where was the horseradish? They had a great choice of draft beers and I tried the Castle Cream Ale which was very good. The white wine we were served was too cold, and it was kind of expensive. The atmosphere was very pleasant and rustic. The staff that we interacted with were fine. My biggest complaint is that there is a 3.5% surcharge added to your meal if you pay by credit card. I didn't see this noted in any conspicuous location until we got the bill. I certainly understand that credit card companies are hurting businesses with their fees, but if you are going to punish your customers let them know up front, so they can have cash if they want to. Better yet, just consider credit card fees part of the cost of running a restaurant and price meals accordingly. Next time we pass through town at dinner time, we will probably eat at Famous Dave's. I think their food is a little better, it's cheaper and unless they've changed recently, they don't charge a credit card surcharge.
The hostess was welcoming and accommodating and set a wonderful tone for our evening. We were met by a friendly and attentive waitress who did a very good job. The drinks and food were served in a timely fashion and looked great. There was only one issue, my steak was ordered medium but cooked well done. Accidents happen but I feel a steak house should be able to prepare a steak to perfection. Our waitress offered to cook another but I wanted to eat with my partner, not 15 minutes later so I said not to bother, she spoke with the manager who offered a $10 discount which I felt was pretty cheap and didn't show any ownership for their mistake. I think 50 percent of my main plate $32 would have been a reasonable gesture. None the less I did finish the steak as that was what I went there for. Aside from being dry from being overcooked, it was a nice cut.
We had a very nice family meal. Our server Steve was the best! He even took a family picture in front of the fireplace!
Just so people know there is no more lunch menu and also they don't have the individual loaf of bread. They also add a 3.5% charge to your bill... Service was pretty slow and we were the only ones there. The waitress was wonderful and I felt bad for her. The food itself was awesome but just want to give people a heads up about all the changes
Samantha brought her 'tude with her to work. Grace brought drinks and asked if her customers wanted appetizers, then recommended soup & salad with the main entrees. Grace was sweet. Grace got $20 from us, and she wasn't even our server. We got Samantha. Samantha got a $6.92 tip, which is $13.08 less than Grace. Here's a tip Samantha, be like Grace. BTW, those horrid green beans and dry steaks weren't worth $103.08.
