My mother stayed here for many months. The staff was very kind and always treated her with respect and dignity. Our questions were always answered and staff was friendly to our family. The daily programs kept her busy and engaged. My dad visited her daily in the summer and they were both able to enjoy the beautiful garden together. During this pandemic, I had confidence that my mom was always safe, as protocols were strictly followed. Thank you Tilbury Manor for taking such great care of my mom.
My father was a resident of Tilbury Manor; I attended the home on a daily basis--from mid morning until mid afternoon. I can say my father received the best care from all the staff. The camaraderie between all the staff lends itself to the quaint homey atmosphere. Each and every staff member worked together whether it was the administrative staff, nurses, PSW's, laundry, kitchen and cleaning staff ensuring each resident was treated as if they were their own parent. The communication between family members and staff is exemplary. Staff spent whatever time is needed to fully explain and provide answers to family members with questions they may have had; they did so with kindness, patience and provided a clear understanding. My father has since passed, but my fondness for Tilbury Manor and all the staff will live on. Tilbury Manor touched my heart in ways that are unimageable--I will always be grateful for their kindness, caring and compassion given to my dad.
The hours of visitation allowed are not sufficient to allow the alhzhimer or dementia patients to recognize who we are!. 3 out a possible 24 hours in a day is not acceptable!
Tilbury Manor is the only RNAO Best Practice Spotlight Organization long term care home in the area. It has wonderful staff who provide the best nursing care and support to 75 residents and their families. Great place to work and live.
If I was able to rate this place 0 stars, I would. Staff look clearly overworked, always short and tired. I watched the "manager" of the home bat a blind eye when the PSWs were running around trying to help residents and also saw them yell at them when they were in the middle of helping residents. It looked like a dictatorship. My grandmother lives here and I frequently visit so it's not an uncommon occurrence that I see this happen.. The reason I'm writing this is because I hope my review can help others understand the environment this place is in. I've also seen many kind staff from the kitchen and nursing team leave from the years and always wondered why. After seeing various PSWs in tears recently, I've clearly understood. I am now concerned about the care my grandmother is getting and if it's adequate enough. All in all, I am now looking at other homes to move my grandmother in. The other review under this home is also from one of the managers of the home, so I'm not surprised that it's a high one.
The best place I have ever worked. I really love the staff because of their kind and caring nature.
