I used to see Dr. Michael in Windsor. I loved having her for a dentist and I was sad to find they closed that office. I had a filling break and saw her in the Riverside Dr. office today. I don't understand the bad reviews of this place. Everyone has ALWAYS been pleasant to me and Dr. Michael is excellent and very kind.
I've been going to Tier Dental for years. First in Windsor and now in Binghamton. Both dentists I've had were both very good.
Caution, this office deals primarily with medicaid and government based insurance and if you have private insurance they dramatically over bill you. First the hygienists and dentist at this office were very kind and did a great job, but the billing and insurance handling was short of a crime. I took my children there because having CHP there were few options, after 2 appointments, we changed to private insurance and I notified the office of the change. I took my children there in April 2018, no issues no one told me anything had changed, took them in Oct 2018 same, no bill no information of an issue. In April of 2019, I received a bill for the Oct appointment, with a late charge! How can you charge a late fee on the first bill you send and my insurance co. did pay out on this claim. Long story short, this office was not covered provider on my private insurance, NO ONE in the office ever told me this, they were not covered in April of 2018 either, but I never got a bill for that!! My insurance co paid partial payment and told me that Tier Family Dental has extremely high rates for their procedures. They said offices that primary take Medicaid often do this in an attempts to make money! I called their billing department to try and work this out the women who told me she was new, laughed at me! She did know what happend and it was not her problem we pay or they will send it to collections, they did and I am fighting it and will also report them to BBB. How can you not charge me in April, but then charge me in Oct BUT NEVER inform me that I was out of network. This is Dishonest and a SCAM!!
DO NOT GO THERE! I called to get an appt. I’ve never been there before. She explained due to my tooth pain, I could be seen within 2 weeks. Then as far as my family goes, they would have to wait until May. Then they started asking what is wrong with my tooth. Well I explained in detail. I haven’t seen another dentist in a couple of years. The ladies who are receptionist, with no medical background besides what they learn through the years in an office up “front” went back and fourth with me about how I need to go back to my previous dentist. By the way my previous dentist cost me a fortune, put me under and did a ton of work. Then within two months all the repairs became undone. Why on earth would I go back there? I told them I had went to aspen but had no work done because they wanted a fortune. So she accused me of “shopping around”. Um, I’ve seen one other dentist, years ago. They were like “the dentist isn’t going to want to touch a tooth another dentist worked on. I said this tooth was not touch by anyone. This is a whole different tooth. I have an exposed nerve. I was recommended to them and they also take our insurance. I’m not done with this situation. I will be calling the BBB. What a way to treat potential clients. These woman had zero clue what they were talking about. No matter how many times I told them my tooth had never been worked on, it didn’t matter. Also let’s say my tooth was worked on and not getting better? Wouldn’t any normal person switch dentists? This is not my case but it happens all the time. If you Don’t feel like your Dr. is listening to you, what do you do? Switch Dr.’s!! Worst service EVER! This was just over the phone. I can only imagine how they are when you have to deal with them in The office. They sound like they hate their jobs. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else!
2 stars only because they are pleasant people, for the most part. However... I have 2 insurances for my family. Their office messed up which was primary and secondary. I got a bill for what was left. I called to sort it out and was told i had to pay the balance off so they could change the insurances around. They wouldnt correct and rebill. Later, i went in with a broken tooth. They took an xray and numbed me up thrn had me wait in the dental chaor while they found a 3rd party to do the extraction. 2 months later i got a bill for over 200 dollars with 2 insurances! By then we are in Covid shutdown. I called a few tomes and left messages inquiring about the bill. No call back. Today i get a letter from them saying they sent my account to collections and i am no longer considered a patient with them because i neglected to pay my bill for 90 days... YOU HAVE BEEN CLOSED FOR OVER 60 DAYS!!!!!!!!! What do you expect from people!!!!
They got me in to look at what another office messed up in my mouth very quickly. They were very careful, professional, and nice. I look forward to going back. Highly recommend them. The dentist is very good and thorough.
Really nice people that do great work! I used to go to the dentist across the street, but had to change because of a change in my insurance. I am now a very satisfied Tier Family Dental customer! Keep up the great work guys!
I am usually petrified of going to the dentist. For once, I wasn't scared. Dr. Glen made my visits pleasant. I have been recommending these guys to every friend that has the same insurance as I do.
Practice has been sold, no longer taking Medicaid as there is no money in it for dentists.
The staff are all very nice but they do not return calls, even when a patient has an urgent need. Very disappointing.
