The perfect consignment boutique! A 2 storey, well maintained shop, right off Edmonton Trail! It carries, designer, vintage, athletic, formal and contemporary pieces! They have an AMAZING shoe selection and the owner is very sweet! Their consignment for a cause program allows you to you donate your percentage of the sale to one of their partnering charities! Skip the bigger shops and head over to Thrifty Princess!
I hate having to leave bad reviews and rarely do. But similar to the experiences of others writing reviews, I have left hundreds of dollars of clothes over the year and no one at the shop will return my calls to check my credit. Staff was friendly, however the shop is so disorganized that I don’t trust things are being recorded properly. I hope to have someone call me back, I have left over 10 voicemails over the pst 6 months. Very frustrating.
I am leaving this review as a last hope effort of getting in touch with the owners of this store. We spoke on the phone last week to which they indicated I could come pick up my items. Since that phone call and 4 trips to the store during regular business hours the store has been constantly closed. I have left numerous voice mails that have been left unreturned and reached out on Instagram. I just visited the store at 11:20AM and there is a weird notice on the door about some company obtaining access to the store daily until March. I am trying not to think the worst but at the point I feel like this store has stolen from me.
I used to love this place and dropped my clothes off a couple times a year. Went in about a month ago and the place was a mess piles of clothes everywhere so you couldn’t even walk through and the front staff I thought was rude my own perception. I decided to end my account there. Long story short I found out the old owner sold to new people, the old owner used to e-transfer money within a couple days. The new owner I have spoken with 5x, left 2 messages, been told they will call backand they have not. I was told they still honour the e-transfers and yet over the course of 5 weeks still have not received my money. Jan 23: they have e-transferred my money. Thankful for that.
This is such a good little second-hand shop. It's really well-curated, and the prices are super reasonable. There's definitely something for everyone who wears female-gendered clothing, from office casual to totally wacky vintage. They also tend to have a really decent selection of shoes and fun jewelry. Definitely give these gals your business if you live nearby and need somewhere cool to shop.
So I have been here a few times now, both to drop off my stuff and to buy the things there. The girls that work there are all darlings and I have been finding it my low-key place to shop and gab. I go for my vintage, handmade and expensive items here, as sadly I am cursed with expensive taste and poor man's wallet and incredibly useful as I have transitioned out of retail into an office and the overhaul of wardrobe that ensued. 1 Place got everything and a diverse selection for it. It's kinda like a closet that's also a two story house, if you're someone that loves the hunt, this place is a goldmine. 2 Prices are amazing, they have a clearance section, and even sales. This seems obvious, and almost expected in fast-fashion world, but many thrift stores I know don't do this, let alone curated establishments. 3 Clothing selection and quality itself is top-notch, atleast to my standards. I am no brand queen, but working in fashion, clothing and retail for years, I got picky. The brands I personally bought there and dropped off were Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Danier, Le Chateau, and Free People. Got myself great jeans, silk blouses, jewelry and some beautiful vintage 90's skirts. 4 The staff are wonderful. Not that I have grilled the staff or anything but the few questions I asked were challenging and they answered them comprehensively. I worked in one of the malls in fashion for 5 years. I go there to gab, gossip and destress. They let me browse, collect and read all the labels and when I want I go down and chat with the staff, I feel all the best parts of working at that mall without the crowds, drama and people treating you badly. Speaking of; be good to these girls, clean after yourself and be respectful. TLDR; The store is wonderful. As a self-described thrifty princess, Thrifty Princess, the Consignment store, fulfils my needs.
The store is small but the fitting rooms are spacious. There are individual stalls and a common mirror area with seating which makes it easy to shop with friends. There was a lot of great clothes fit into the small space, it was organized and well lit. It didn’t feel chaotic or too cramped to browse but not somewhere to go with a big bag or stroller. The prices were good and I found one of my most-complimented outfits there.
Thrifty princess is an amazingly fun store full of beautiful consignment clothes, a fabulous atmosphere and even more fabulous staff. Jen has been such a wonderful help in finding the cutest clothing and accessories that match my personality because she takes the time to get to know her clientele! Every time I drive by I absolutely have to stop in and see her, and see what new goodies she's gotten in! For any occasion Thrifty princess has got you covered! 10/10 recommend to everyone :
My go to consignment store in Calgary. I have tried them all and Thrifty Princess has the best prices and nice quality clothes. Jennifer the owner is sweet! I have been shopping at Jennifers for a few years now! Check it out, you won't be disappointed!
This store is set up like a beautiful closet you would want to walk into and just pick up all of the lovely things you want to wear. It's just like a little Boutique inside. Bright and sparkly and clean. Very good pricing on items and all at very good quality. I visit every few weeks and it's like a brand new store each time I go in. The turnover for sales is very good
