I was guaranteed a spot for a wedding event. I went to give in the details for my booking and was told that the date is not available anymore. I tried to contact them through the weekend and wasn’t able to as they were closed. I have sent out over 100 invites and now have to cancel the whole event due to this community not holding up to their promise. I asked for confirmation multiple times and was told it would be available for sure as long I book at least 4 days in advance and I tried to book 10 days before the event. Don’t take their word for anything, not reliable
Check out my boys art work. He's been getting paid by the city to work with and improve the art across Toronto. And the children love it. More engagement like this should be apparent across the city.
Rexdale women centre - Pre school room: 2 hrs first hand analysis : Noticed that the child-care staff are not friendly and rude while giving instructions to kids and busy with cell phones surprisingly all staff are certified hmm!. ESL may be good for women, so leave your kids elsewhere while taking ESL.
I grew up not far from this facility and I can honestly say it is the scene for some of my most cherished childhood memories. The playground and field are clean and open and it was amazing playing all sorts of games on them. The facility itself supported so many local clubs, events and activities over the years including the Village Green Festival. The staff were always very nice, thoughtful and helpful. This community centre really is the heart of this area.
I had a very pleasant experience with Thistletown Community Centre. On Saturday, August 17, I held my daughter's 5th birthday party there. It was really cool. One thing I wasn't happy about was that one of the employees hadn't registered my floor plan. So when my sister and mom arrived there before me, the custodians were confused as to how we wanted to set up the tables. I didn't like that, as one of the weekday staff members told me there were going to input the floor plan. However, this employee was actually really pleasant to work this, and I'm assuming it probably slipped his mind. It won't affect my ratings. The room was nice and air conditioned. Very easy to set up and take down our decorations. The custodians were very attentive and super kind. We made sure to feed them food. I mean come on, who really wants to spend their evening A Saturday for that matter tending to a party. They could surely be doing other things with their time. So we made sure they were given food. Pizzas, fried fish and pasta. They were really thankful. We also made sure after the event, that we cleaned up as much as possible, so that the custodian didn't have to do much. Another thing that was very frustrating is that a lot of the kitchen ware was under lock and key. Couldn't access basic utensils and bake-ware. This was a bit jarring, but all was not lost! If we were to book with them again, we know we'd have to bring a few extra items just in case. Lesson learned. Overall, I had a good experience. We had the room booked from 3 PM- 9PM. We paid around $345. Not too bad, if you ask me. I would recommend this space for a party. Probably even a small wedding could happen here as well. I know they have other rooms, so I'm going to be exploring this for my other daughter's birthday coming up soon.
I have meetings there we use one of the class rooms to hold r meeting it is a clean place three floors we use a room near the stairs so we walk up the stairs nested of talking elevator when you look out the window you partly see rexdale. It's really nice at night where you çan the lights
Great community centre with many programs. Different organizations are here. One of the sites for CampTO. The third floor of the building contains a timeline on the history of Thistledown!
It's big and nice but when people come to have assemblies and sermons after there is always people peeping in . Also when we enter we have to wipe off writing on the chalkboard.
The amazing thing for this centre that they care your kids more than your expectations , my daughter couldn't join her first day of her Jr.chef class due to some transport unavailability but they call us to ask about my daughter bcz they care , kudosmanagement of thistletown community centre
