Great place 10/10 nerd spot. Board games, ttrpgs and accessories, bar life and awesome food. A very special event brought me here and despite being a packed house everything ran super tight and smooth. I used to have no reason to come to Guelph pretty much ever, but now I have the best reason to make the trip. Thanks guys for hosting a wonderful night and see you again soon!
A fun place to visit. Many game options to play with your friends, unique architectural design and friendly staff, who would help you out finding a right game for your crew. Food was also ok, but the washroom not the cleanest.
I have been going to the round table for a few weeks now for their Wednesday night trivia. It’s from 7-9 and you play two rounds while having the option to play your own board/card game between questions. It’s the perfect time to get dinner or a snack while having a few drinks with friends mid week doesn’t have to be alcoholic either!!. The two regular staff who serve and run the trivia really add to the experience with their charisma, especially Jordan. The atmosphere, drinks, game selection, and staff are why you should visit. A Guelph gem. Food wise, the menu has very limited vegan options but you can sub any meat patty for a veggie patty on burgers which is nice. Is it mind blowing? No, but it still tastes good- especially the fries. As for the other menu items I haven’t tried them but friends I have gone with liked what they had. In short - worth a visit with friends, reserve a table for anything larger than four ppl, expect a good time, and try out Wednesday night trivia
I freaking LOVE this place! It is super cozy, adorable, and has a great selection of board games! The food is tasty and it isn't super pricey. I also really like their Magic: The Gathering nights and events - which they offer enough MTG stuff that you can always grab a deck and join with ease.
The food, amazing. The staff, lovely. The games, superb. I went here after showing some friends around Guelph and had the best time. Everything about The Round Table is so much fun and it’s definitely worth the trip. Tom was our server and if you’re able to get a table with him he is so sweet and clearly cares about his customers a lot. Altogether a wonderful experience.
It's a nice place to hangout on a date or with friends. First visit the service was very good. The staff member helping us was very enthusiastic and came to check on us to see if we needed anything. The second time, the service fell short of my expectations as another staff was helping us. She was not friendly or welcoming and I waited for 15 minutes but no one came to our table to take our order. It wasn't even busy that evening. This place is more about the board games than the food in my opinion. The food is nothing special - it's just bar food but named differently. The chill atmosphere and amazing selection of games makes up for it though.
This place is fantastic!!! I really love the ambiance they’ve created and how friendly everyone is. It’s fun, there’s a huge selection of games including local ones, and overall it’s just a really cool place to go. My only complaint, and the reason I took off a star, is that I don’t think we were checked on more than twice for the 3 hours we were there, and the fact that everything I was wearing and my hair and everything smells like grease now which isn’t super pleasant. My group can’t wait to come back and play more soon!!!
Came in last weekend on the 24th and weekend previous on the 17th with reservations from their very beautiful while simple reservation website. My husband and I had a party of 9, expecting 11 people, two of which were no shows and of the 9 one of them my 11year old son. We are a military family and find it extreamly hard to get everyone together when we can, and found The Round Table to be a fun and memorable experience! The orders were tasty and the price is fair and the unique menu is super fun to look into. The employees, from the Royal Garrison, to the actual tavern style restaurant were very welcoming and kind,super paitent with my son which I truly appreciated! Our female waiter was awesome. Constantly ensuring we had our drinks and food, and taking the time to be accommodating towards my son. The second time we came in on the 24th she remembered him and joked about his drink which was also appreciated ; he loved being able to bring in his new friend the second time and the employee made them feel right at home in a fun friendly environment Another employee who served us on Friday March 24th was a tall red haired man who was just as kind and acccomodating as well! He made my son laugh and pointed out a fun game. All in all a great time and if your food is ever running behind please remember people to be kind! These employees are great and are going as quick as they can. Will be back again soon for sure!
Easily the best board game cafe in the area! Great staff, tons of games available, and impeccably themed interior. The themed food and drinks really add to the experience as well!
Went for a friend's birthday and the staff were super rude...definitely one of the more bizarre customer service experiences we've ever had. They were extremely strict about not opening the small cake we brought in for our friend's birthday providing no rationale for the rule at all and actually checked in 3 times when we first sat down to make sure we weren't going to open the lid to the cake. When telling them we were celebrating a birthday, they told us they dont do anything special for birthdays ok, fine and said "their presence is the present" - all while managing to NOT wish our friend a happy birthday once through the whole process! So many possible ways to approach this situation and they chose to not even be friendly human beings let alone provide good customer service! Strange decision and even more awkward conversation. Food is okay, not worse or better than you would expect. Beers took a while to arrive. We went to round table quite regularly before because of their great game selection, but looks like our group won't be back for at least a while. Maybe it was just a bad night for them, but you'd think they would want to be friendly and have their customers return!
