This really is a hidden gem! The food was really really good. Wait was a bit long for the food but I think that’s because they make it all right there fresh for you. I ordered the breakfast burritos which were amazing especially with salsa and sour cream. Also the hash browns potato pancakes are an absolute must try see pic. The service was great too, very friendly and welcoming. You can tell they are genuinely happy to have you here. To top it all off everything is soooo cheap. This place definitely should be a lot more popular. One of the best places to get breakfast food in Guelph.
Awesome food!! Awesome staff!! I would definitely recommend eating here. It was the best breakfast ever! The hash browns were awesome! I left with a smile and a VERY full stomach.
This restaurant is so wonderful, the delicious home cooking, the friendly staff. Every time I eat there I feel nourished, well fed. I can’t recommend this place highly enough.
By far the best breakfast place in Guelph. I have two rambunctious kids, and they told us about a toy chest, also brought their food out earlier putting a rush on it. The service and the hospitality are amazing. But don't think that's all. The food is reflective of this. It is a diner style breakfast place, but with flair and care for their food. The chef must really love their job because the food is delicious, the ingredients are fresh and lovely, and all for the same price you'd get at a grease pit. The decor is also quirky and cute. The baked goods awesome. Can't say a single thing bad about this place. I would come here every day for breakfast if I could and will become a regular.
My wife and I stopped in for lunch. The food was fantastic and not expensive. We got a large Greek salad to start. $7. Big enough for two. The dressing was home made...wish we had bought some to take home! My wife got a burrito and she really enjoyed it. $5. She also got a Pena colada smoothie $5 and commented that it wasn’t as sweet as most places in a good way and was quite good. I got a roast beef sandwich. $5.50. The bread was made fresh there as far as I could tell. It was actually served in two small sandwiches. They didn’t skimp on the meat either. Everything was fresh and tasted like it was all made in house with great care. The prices couldn’t be beat and the food was even better! We had to wait a little longer then at a big chain restaurant but it was definitely worth it. We will be visiting again soon and we will bring friends! Total bill came to $30 including tax and a 20% tip.
Food was wonderfully tasty and coffee was especially great. Their potato hashbrowns were definitely as good as the reviews said they were. Make sure you have extra time to eat as they take real care about making the meals good and home cooked. The only worry about our visit was that they had two piles of the druthers newspaper at the front entrance table which is propaganda and fear mongering against vaccination. And the owner did not wear a mask the whole two hours we were there. I completely agree with accepting others' beliefs but making a choice to not wear a mask despite endangering guests is morally wrong. Remember how we all suffered through polio in our childhood? No you don't, because your parents had you vaccinated! The owner was a gentleman still, but I would ask "Don't endanger people with your beliefs please!"
This spot is a rose among some thorns. As you walk down Carden street from downtown towards the bus hub, you need to look carefully to find this little gem. You can’t believe the size of this cafe, the quality of the food and the friendliness of the service. Being right across from the train station, this place should be packed all the time. So it’s our job to get the word out. I just had a late breakfast sandwich which was great! They make unique ‘potato nests’ too. And the prices are very reasonable. All ‘home cooked’ and such a great place. I hope Guelph embraces it and it begins to thrive. If you’ve come to Guelph via train, rest up and fuel up at this little cafe before stepping any further.
Took my 2 kids for breakfast. A warm cozy little spot. Coffee was good. Portion sizes great. We had the homestyle breakfast and the Eggs Benedict. Prices are reasonable. The hash browns are to die for! So delicious. Everyone who works there was extremely friendly. They had a high chair for my son. We really enjoyed our breakfast. The signage for the restaurant is non existent, you may walk right past the place without knowing it's there. Keep looking, it's worth the find.
Saw this nice new spot on the way to work and I've popped in twice. This is a very comfortable setting. The staff is noticeably new at the service industry but they were extremely nice and accommodating. The menu features the usual breakfast classics but at an amazing price. The portions are a bit smaller but thats actually very nice in contrast to some of the huge portions many places serve.
I come here often and love the food, atmosphere, and the staff. The food is amazing, I feel like I'm at home everytime I go here. Majda and Andre are the cooks and do an amazing job, Julia is always so happy and cheery when taking customers orders and makes everyone feel welcome. I'll continue to come here, this is my go-to place for meals and even just a coffee when I'm downtown. I give the people and place 5 stars, but I'd easily give 10 stars if possible.I highly recommend this place when in Guelph, Ontario.
