The Rec Room is an amazing place, especially if you are a fan of arcade games. From the moment you walk in, you realize that this is a true paradise for anyone who enjoys fun, lights, and action. The variety of games is impressive. You can find classic pinball machines, car and motorcycle simulators, virtual reality experiences, and legendary games like Space Invaders and Pac-Man. Everywhere you look there are colorful arcade machines filled with exciting sounds and screens that immediately bring out your competitive spirit.nBut The Rec Room offers much more than just video games. It is a complete entertainment center with options for all kinds of interests. You can play billiards, ping-pong, darts, and even try axe throwing, which is a very popular and fun activity. There are also modern racing simulators and advanced virtual reality games that make the experience even more immersive and enjoyable.nIn addition to all the activities, the place has a large bar and a spacious restaurant with many different food options. I personally did not eat there, but it seemed like a good choice because it was full of people enjoying their meals. Another great detail is that there are big screens everywhere showing live sports, including hockey and American football, which creates a lively and energetic atmosphere.nIn summary, The Rec Room is a fantastic destination with countless entertainment options for children, teenagers, and adults. Whether you want to play, eat, watch sports, or simply have a good time with friends and family, this is definitely the perfect place to do it.
We visited The Rec Room South Edmonton twice this week, and had a great time both days!nTuesday is definitely the best day to visit since all the games are half price, which makes it so much more fun and worth it.nnThe place is very clean, tidy, and full of energy with good music and an overall lively vibe. There are easily 50+ games and entertainment consoles here plenty to keep you entertained for hours. Some games are absolutely fantastic, though a few have loose joysticks due to overuse. It might be nice if an IT or maintenance check is done every couple of months to keep everything running smoothly.nnI also gave feedback to the Trophy Case counter staff about the King Kong Dinosaur VR game it’s an awesome concept but could be risky since there’s a big iron pillar right beside the console. For the player sitting on the right side, there’s a chance of bumping into it and possibly injuring a wrist or damaging a watch. Hopefully, they relocate that setup for safety.nnOther than that, the staff were helpful and kind, and the overall experience was excellent. You really won’t get bored here at all!nOne small suggestion I couldn’t find a drinking water dispenser anywhere around, which would be a nice addition.nnOverall, a fantastic place to unwind, play, and have fun with friends or family. Highly recommended!
I recently visited The Rec Room in South Edmonton Commons with my family and friends, and it completely blew us away! This place is a massive 60,000+ sq ft playground that has something for literally everyone. From state-of-the-art arcade games and redemption machines to bowling, pool, ping pong, and even a CXC racing simulator — we were nonstop entertained for hours.0nThe atmosphere is vibrant and energetic without feeling overwhelming. The layout is smart, with the games area separated nicely from the dining spaces, and those big natural windows make it feel bright and open even in the evening. We grabbed a table at the restaurant and the food was fantastic — fresh, flavorful, and perfect for sharing. The wings, burgers, and cocktails hit the spot, and the service was friendly and attentive even on a busy night.10nWhether you’re there for a date night, family outing, or group celebration, this spot delivers. We caught some live entertainment vibes and the energy was contagious. It’s the ultimate spot to let loose, be playful, and make great memories. Prices felt fair for the level of fun and quality you get.nIf you’re in South Edmonton or willing to drive, do yourself a favor and check out The Rec Room. We’re already planning our next visit! Perfect for all ages and group sizes.n10/10 — One of the best entertainment venues in Edmonton.
Would recommend to everyone!
Ronnie at the bar was stellar. You would not expect 5* bar service at an arcade, but Ronnie made us feel welcomed instantly. Even with how busy it was, he was FAST and attentive. He also was able to give great suggestions for beer. I did not realize the Rec Room was on top of a mountain , because Ronnie and his service is PEAK.
What a fun place! We spent hours there. It brought out the kids in us, not just a playground for children!nnWe enjoyed some alcoholic beverages as well as a delicious meal in between throwing axes, 10 pin bowling, and trying to beat the high score on the driving simulator.nnIt was a little pricey, we dropped $100 to start, but between the 3 of us, we enjoyed over 4 hours of fun for that amount. Dinner and drinks were not anymore expensive than any other sit down meal establishment. I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty and well put together the meals were. The food was better than I expected for a gaming establishment. The bartenders were very attentive and friendly as well as the rest of the staff.nnI will be going again and will recommend it to my family and friends when they are in Edmonton! Thanks for a fun afternoon!
