We recently visited The Rec Room and had a fun time, especially enjoying the bowling. Some of the other games were just okay, and unfortunately, a few game machines weren’t working properly. There were also issues with game credits not being given correctly, and staff assistance was lacking in resolving this. On the plus side, having an SPC card gets you extra tickets, which is a nice perk. Overall, it’s a good spot for a fun outing with friends and family, but a little more maintenance and customer support would improve the experience.
Good gaming fun! We recently came here January 1st to enjoy a family day playing arcade games, I’m glad we came early because by the afternoon it was crowded and getting really busy even on a holiday day. I was quite disappointed in the initial staff that were there to sell us the wristbands and credits. There was only one staff member and it took over 45minutes to just get our wristband even though they had already been open for over a half hour and there were hardly any people in the place. A huge line was inside the Trophy Room all trying to get wristbands. And because the sound of the arcade games is so loud their staff member I think was having a hard time hearing people and being heard themselves. Maybe a curtain or a door there would be helpful to eliminate the sound and make that area more practical? Or make it so you can purchase a wristband at the front desk area because there were 2 staff just hanging out there. Aside from that the games were fun and our kids were able to find quite a few even at their young ages to enjoy. Of course a majority of these games I feel like are geared to older children and adults. I like the variety of games- from old school basketball hoops and the DDR that isn’t DDR but a different variation, to the roller coaster simulator styles and VR too. There were probably a good 5-10 games that were down and not working. The bowling upstairs was looking really fun as well.nPlenty of food options around- we sat in at the restaurant and this was the best part for me. The food was so so good! We ordered the Tempura Jalapeños $13.50 - freaking amazing! Huge jalapeños and perfectly crispy. Truffle fries - lots of Parmesan and very crispy. But the kids menu was the best! $10 for a drink, main course and dessert! And the kids main menu portions are huge- very filling for a great price.
It was super busy, and it was hard to get help from the staff. Quite a few games equipment didn't work. As a sensory sensitive person became overwhelming. The food was amazing though and ther server was very pleasant. Food and drinks took a little long. Bit worth the extra wait. Over all wil be going again. Good experience.
Tonight, I found myself at The Rec Room, and while the games were calling my name, it was the food that truly stole the show. I wasn’t expecting much—I mean, it’s a place known for fun, not fine dining—but wow, was I wrong. The menu had a bit of everything, from burgers and flatbreads to wings and poutine. I decided to go with their signature burger, and let me tell you, it was incredible. Juicy, perfectly seasoned, and piled high with toppings that were messy in the best way possible.nnAnd don’t even get me started on the poutine. The fries were crispy, the gravy was rich, and the cheese curds had just the right amount of squeak. It was comfort food done right, and honestly, it felt like the perfect pairing for the energy of the place. Sitting there with a drink in hand, surrounded by laughter and arcade sounds, it reminded me that sometimes food doesn’t have to be fancy—it just has to hit the spot. And tonight, The Rec Room absolutely delivered.
I really loved this place they even have bowling, axe throwing and Darts but WEM Rec Room doesn't have Bowling, axe throwing or darts at their location. So I highly recommend this place and they even have events at the Rec room on some nights and the events are held at the library which I found weird it was called the library. And the events cost money though. But it makes sense though. Event you can have pritave events at the Rec Room too.
