The Pattie House Smokin' BBQ

It looks shabby from the outside. Not at all what I expected inside. People bring their families and conversations are lively. Large, spacious, clean... Every so often they sponsor oil painting classes on a Saturday night for $50. That gets your first drink and supplies to paint. You can see some of the paintings around on the walls. Nice.

Another great fish Friday at the Pattie house! Always a great time with friendly familiar service! Tried the fresh “chip” app and they were awesome! Big fresh portions! Always great food and staff! thanks again Constance, as always! Your friendly service keeps us coming back

As part of the beautiful Trent Severn Waterway, Coboconk is a busy summer hub and a main stop for cottagers as well as campers at Balsam Lake Provincial Park. At the centre of town is the 140 year old ‘Pattie House’ property. It has a warm and friendly atmosphere inside or on the back patio. Clean rest rooms. The smiling staff are local and very hospitable. I’m told the new owner is a trained chef himself with a long history of the restaurant sector and the cottage industry. They do have a wide assortment of grilled/bbq meat/veggie options and the coldest beer on the lake. Maple bacon wings are very popular among the regulars. And for all the arm chair food critics..Its inexpensive casual quick comfort food people, you’re not dining at the Harbour Sixty....it’s Harbour Coby”. Try to enjoy the country water-side dining moment. Drive or take a Picturesque boat ride around Balsam Lake, then head north to “Coby”. Boat dock next door. LCBO close by. Snowmobile groups always welcome in the winter. DJ and live music on weekends. You can’t beat this Ontario treasure anywhere. Take that... Muskoka.

I would stop by again for lunch. The pulled pork was great...not my style but tender and juicy. Needs more sauce for me. Mac n' cheese was garlicky but lacked any other real flavour. Still... I would return to try other sides. Lots of beer choices as well. Lunch and a local draft...$20. + tip.
