The Grand Experience

Story

The Grand Experience has been a Lindsay staple for decades. Encompassing half a city block, it's become known to local patrons as the place that has 'something for everyone'.

Originally known has the Market Hotel, the building occupied a position of importance in Lindsay’s shopping area in the late 1800’s. The Queens Square was where farmers would display their wares each and every week, with The Grand being a spot for the travelling merchants and their horses to stay while they were in the Lindsay area.

Fast forward to the early 1980’s, when The Grand Experience restaurant was added to the The Grand building, giving Lindsay a popular dining spot to go along with the well known Grand Pub.

As of today, The Grand is owned and operated by Charlie McDonald since 2010. Since Charlie's arrival, The Grand Experience has seen several renovations to better accommodate his customers, so if you haven’t been to The Grand lately, you should take an evening, stop by for dinner and check out The Grand Experience!

Went to this place tonight while having my family day time with my son & his girlfriend. We were minding our own business trying to enjoy the end of our night while this man a regular at this place ...made it his mission to walk by us every few minutes pretending to use the washroom, literally every few minutes (BS) calling my son names not once, nor twice ..over 4 times, the racist prick!!!! We're in 2018 and its every sad to witness this kind of experience with this kind of behavior at a pub. I WILL EVER STEP FOOT IN THIS KIND OF BAR AGAIN!! Were the ones that had to leave while he seats there??? I have never been so disgusted in a place.

A Grand disappointment. Ordered two burgers and fries ( with pop and coffee) hoping for a quick meal seeing as how the place was empty. 50 minutes later(without an update) I asked to get the food to go because we had to pick something up around the corner at noon. So obviously when we arrived home the food was stone cold, I great way to spend $45. Instead of leaving a review I first emailed the owner through the website almost 2 weeks ago, and even called the restaurant and left a message with an employee for the manager and that was a few days ago now, and no reply. From this experience it's obvious service is not high point at this establishment.

I spent a long while debating on my review for this but I have to say this place has taken a turn for the worst over last few years. I can mainly sum it up by customer service issues they lost a large number of excellent servers and this and other problems has hampered my great memories . I keep giving this place extra chances because drinks are good value it is very good location and sometimes you can get both good service and food. There was a point years ago where I would come in 2-3 times a month and that has dwindled to 2-3 a year. Food 3 * Value 4* Service 1-5* varies all the time

The Grand is the best bar and family restaurant in Linsday. I have being going there for years, everytime I am in town. The food is great, love the wings. The staff is woundful no matter how busy it is they always attend to your needs. One thing I love the must is that the bar and restaurant are separate, so family with kids can enjoy a great meal and the bar is for adults who just want to have a drink or have a good time. I give 5 STARS all the way.
