The Optimist Café

Restaurant is quaint and lovely. It is a beautiful sea captain's home from the 1700s. They serve breakfast all day. Can't wait to go back for the homemade peach pancakes. The food is very fresh and made from scratch. Our waitress was lovely and told us a lot of the history of this historic home. The hours in December are 8-3. Closed Xmas. They are closed for the months of January and February, possibly opening for Valentine's Day. The Optimist opened today 2/17, for the season! It was busy and delightful! Always a good choice

I have breakfast there frequently and have never been disappointed in any way. And yesterday's omlet might have been the best I have ever eaten.

Delicious food- best curry chicken salad in town! Excellent service, nice place to meet friends or have a work meeting. I also get tea party food to go for my holiday parties and it is all beautiful and delicious.

Charming spot for a refreshing cup of tea or coffee; and a light snack. Excellent vegan Salad Bagel. Handicapped accessible, including a a separate large well-lit restroom, if you’re traveling with an elder person.

Eh. 3 dollars for a cup of coffee and neither of us were offered a refill until we were done eating! Service was kinda lacking. My crepes came with choice of meat but I was not asked what I wanted. Ended up with a rubbery piece of Ham. And the hash seemed like it was fresh out of a can. Sub par breakfast and it came to 29 dollars????? The place has potential..maybe it was just my visit that was bad. Might try again next time I'm in the area.
