The Metcalfe Restaurant

The restaurant was very good with my young kids, bringing them colouring books and crayons. The food came very quickly, and my kid's food was good. The salad that I ordered, however, was disappointing. I got the Metcalfe salad, and it was watery which diluted the dressing so it didn't have much flavour. The location, however was great, and very festive as they had decorated for Christmas and we sat right by the tree.

Had the deep fried mac n cheese, was served quickly and tasted great, server was nice and attentive good experience.

Service was good, the food however, was so so. The size of the burger was larger than the portion of fries we got. The patio was nice, faces the street. It's on a first come first serve basis. Make sure you walk up to the table yourself once it frees up. The servers don't really know who's next. We were in line with 3 other groups and a group of teens just walked in and sat down at a table that just got up and the servers started serving them when we were all still standing in line waiting.

Absolutely hideous food. I ordered grilled chicken with fries and gravy on the side. They brought me aujuis and said it was "their" gravy. The chicken was BOILED and tossed on the grill for less than 10 seconds each side. It was bouncing as she brought to to my table and NO seasoning, not even garlic or pepper. I said no and walked out and left my family there while I waited in the car. Save your money and DO NOT go there as you may be risking food poisoning. My 15 year old can cook better than this place and they should be shut down the food is so bad. My son's burger wasn't even cooked right and was spitting blood out of it everytime he took a bite. My husband's fish was burned and he couldn't finish it. Disgusting and hideous food. Don't waste your time and money. Go across the street to Shepherd's Pub. The food there is amazing and we SHOULD have gone there.

Wasn't busy when we went. Both food and service was fine, prices maybe a little high for what it was. Wouldn't go out of our way to go back, and would probably try something else if in the area. Nothing to speak poorly of though. Your mileage may vary.
