The Desert Rose is thriving in the heart of Elora, Ontario. Join us for cooking classes, pick up one of our fresh meals to go, let us host your next event or party at our location or think of us for your catering needs. Our patio will also be open this summer and fall for lunch and dinner!

I would give a lot more stars if the option was available! The Desert Rose was the highlight of the weekend. Yes, the food was that totally awesome! I had a bean burger. I am not vegetarian or vegan anything but I think that burger was probably the best burger I’ve ever had! It was plump and juicy and just totally delicious. My boyfriend even brought one to bring home for his supper it was so good, lol. My boyfriend had their quiche. I think his eyes actually glazed over because it was so good. The interior of the café has a homey feel and the seating is unique; it’s harvest seating. Most of their tables sit ten or twelve with a couple which seat two. You come in and take a seat wherever there’s space whether someone’s already sitting at the table or not. Most of The Desert Rose’s menu items have the option for gluten and dairy free but it is all at least vegetarian and some have the option for vegan. We only saw two staff but they were fast and efficient. I think the one who took our order was the chef/cook since we didn’t see her again once we ordered and other customers started trickling in. The price was about average for a good meal. It was about $45 for the quiche, and two burgers and a Blue Sky soda. We will definitely be going back again and again and again.
Everything I've ever had here has been delicious - fresh, tasty and made-to-order. Best vegetarian food around and comfy atmosphere, with an eclectic decor, communal tables and friendly staff. An Elora gem!
The Rose is closed until April, but the dining experience is wonderful. Resa is a wonderful chef and host. This is primarily a vegetarian restaurant, but there are fish items. Great soups, nachos, specials etc. Great atmosphere as well.
Amazing food quality!! I'm a huge meat eater, but Resa's food is just too good! She can convert me over to vegetarian any day of the week I choose :
Fantastic food that makes you feel good as well as full! A must go-to café for anyone near and far! Everything is so fresh you can't be disappointed!
The best falafel I have ever tasted. Have stayed in the Middle East for two decades plus and tasted food in a million places, but this was unparalleled.
Went there yesterday with friends. We loved everything we ordered. Service is even better than the food.
Fantastic food! Some of the best vegan options and variety I've seen in Wellington County.
