The Lighthouse on Cape d'Or

Really great views. We went off season so the restaurant and cabin weren't open. Kids loved the hiking trails.

Visited the lighthouse a couple of years ago now, but always wanted to go back. It was one of our favourite stops on our trip to Nova Scotia - it's a little bit off the beaten path but it is totally worth it. The views are absolutely incredible and we had lunch here too, which was great. The restaurant is small and cozy, server was very friendly.

The setting is quaint with character although the lighthouse is very small and not functional anymore.The view of the cliffs are amazing but treacherous if you approach the edge of the cliff to look down. We went on a cloudy day, but it was still pleasant. The scent of wild roses bushes along the path down to the lighthouse was a plus. Looking further out to sea, one can observe tidal intercept,where the currents meet and form slight rapids. The drive to this location is a dirt road , bumpy in parts.

Amazing view of the lighthouse, bay of Fundy and rock formations. It is worth climbing back up to the parking lot. We stayed there overnight so I got to see the sunset and sunrise and it is just so amazing. The rooms are clean and the food at the light keeper's restaurant was the best! They are all very accommodating. We can not complain 😀 you can bring your car down if you stay overnight.

Great spot to hike to. Seals. Riptides. View. Steep decline. Difficult walk. Take a book. Relax for the day. Don't forget your camera ☺
