The Lift

"The LiFT is a bohemian bar located in downtown Des Moines’ Court Ave. District, featuring an award winning martini menu, extensive beer selection, top-notch cocktails, exquisite local art and one-of-a-kind atmosphere. Inspired by its historic location in the Kirkwood Hotel, the LiFT is named for the elevators that originally occupied the building. An antique elevator cage acts as the centerpiece of the bar, complemented by the patina of the elevator’s original ironwork. Globe lights inspired by those that originally dotted Court Ave. subtly illuminate the LiFT’s turn-of-the-century color palette, while its meticulous tile work evokes the structure of its surrounding streetscape.
