Always a fantastic spot for cocktails in downtown Des Moines. They have some “regular” cocktails but otherwise their menu changes seasonally, featuring house invented unique cocktails and well made traditional cocktails. Service is great, and the place has sort of a 60s-70s classy lounge feel inside. Highly recommend!
Low lit atmosphere, comfy chairs, can hear your conversation at this place and it looks like it was made in the 60's era. Loved everything about this place, the two tequila drinks were delicious.
The "mid-century modern" retro vibe is very charming and fun. The music being played fits perfectly. Quite the meticulously crafted libations!
Classy and best craft cocktail lounge. Creative as well. A very good spot and I 100% recommend for someone to celebrate your special occasion here. Their house cocktails are the best.
Update: 2nd visit and my review stands. Had the If you've got it Flan and Cafe Mole. Both were delicious. The atmosphere was hip, calm, and stylish. The majority of patrons were nicely dressed but there were a few in jeans and all was acceptable. The staff were attentive but not intrusive, the drinks were delicious and priced comparable to other cocktail places, $9-13. I had the Penicillin and the Hummingbird, both were very good. The Hummingbird tasted like I was outside in the park enjoying nature, just a delightful mix of mint and absinthe. My partner had the WT Stead, which was very smoky. We will definitely return.
Love the aesthetic of the place, but also could not really see the drink menu without shining a light on it. Drinks were very interesting and not really my "thing" but if you like whiskey they have a lot of options for uniquely curated whiskey drinks. Would have like to see more clear liquor options rum, vodka, etc..
I love Hello Marjorie's attention to detail. They have creative cocktails that they switch up on the regular, and they have such a homey, but esthetically-pleasing atmosphere that just makes you want to sink in. It's a popular place and there is often a wait on the weekends, but if you can get in, it's worth it.
We absolutely LOVED this bar. Such a unique atmosphere with delicious drinks. Not only did they offer a nice variety of cocktails, they also had a good beer/ wine list and N/A mix drink options. Staff was attentive and easy to connect with. Would return during future visits to DSM!
This is a really awesome cocktail lounge that Des Moines was missing for a long time. I've been a few times now and its always been a great experience. I brought a 10 person group over on a Saturday night to enjoy some good drinks and that's a big ask for a smaller space on a busy night but they worked some magic and got us all in a nice spot with excellent service.
First off Josh was the nicest mixologist!! Very friendly and made wonderful suggestions. The space was using social distance guidelines and very clean. So happy hour. 4-6 They have old fashioned, vodka martinis and a pale ale on special had the lemon drop martini and it was the best one I ever had. Also got the Pet Sounds, the Marjorie, and Daydream. All were amazing. I can’t wait to come back and try more drinks!! They carry beer, seltzer, wine and fun on taps choices. Go! Go now!
