Adorable pub in the middle of the quaint Kensington neighbourhood. Lovely evening so we sat outside on the patio. Started with lime Marguerita and a beer. We shared a wedge salad - crisp and fresh. Lots of bacon, topped with sweet potatoe shavings. I had the gnocchi with brocolli and spicy sausage in a rose sauce and Alice of garlic toast - absolutely yummy!! My guest had the short rib dinner - a massive serving of succulent and fall apart beef, a mound of fresh mashed potatoes and lovely buttery seasoned green beans. All around great meal and awesome service. Great prices.
Great full English breakfast/fry up and they have a pretty good mango beer here - the Mangolorian from Alberta brewer Alley Kat.
Love this place. So cozy and the food is excellent. It is like a hobbit home or walking onto the set of a Hallmark Christmas movie - however you see it, great atmosphere. Service is good, although it felt like our server forgot about us at times. She came to take our drink menus to give to other customers without asking if we'd like another beverage, which we thought was a bit odd. Regardless, we had delicious food - wings, beet salad, and the yorkshires that were appreciated by all. Great holiday cocktails, too.
My husband has been pining for the comforts of home in the UK since we returned from our honeymoon. What a shame we didn't visit this pub before! Friendly table service, pints poured and served perfectly, and the food quality exceeded our expectations. Their chefs must be magic as the sticky toffee pudding is simply d-i-v-i-n-e. At my husband's insistence, we scheduled a Sunday the first month of the new year as KPub Day, to experience a full English breakfast AND their Sunday roast. What a great place to be. Highly, highly recommended!
My husband and I come here whenever we can. We come for the beef and yorkshire pudding. It is 100% the best roast beef dinner we both have ever had. The steak and Guinness pie and sticky toffee pudding is delicious too. We also love the ceasars here. The staff are warm and welcoming. A cozy little English style pub with a warm, pleasant environment. The music is not loud like other places, which we like too. We have never had a complaint and will keep coming back! :
Great local pub, Good menu choices and reasonable prices. Service is good. Parking can be a challenge.
Visit exceed expectations. Food not so But take nothing from that comment, from out of town and wanting pizza. Not easy. These people fantastic and food really great when set mouth for pizza , hard to reset but staff and whole atmosphere made me re think " why pizza ?" This place has it all. Beautiful/ wonderful/socialbel staff members fantastic micro beer only had 2 glasses of certain beer recommended upon my first choice not available. going to become a favourite of mine. I don't name nor Facebook or such. But small local pub is exactly what everywhere and everyone needs. And sorry for comment on food. Was exceptional but wow too much. And fault is mine. Enjoyed atmosphere and company so take home food cooled.
It's been a while since I frequented this well known Kensington Pub...I now live elsewhere. However I miss it dearly. Staff were professional; prompt; "social" ; and accommodating. It was one of the few places I know that poured a proper pint of Guinness. The menu was great, too....the Brit sandwich back bacon, cheese and Branston pickle and bangers/mash were favourites. It is a well known gathering place in a nice neighbourhood....and they have added an outdoor patio. Inside there are three different sections...with different "vibes"...the central section/bar is "where the magic happens" as the famous "C." then barman/acting 'guv'nor' once told me. And it's true. Many of the local denizens generally a professional, educated, artsy lot go there....a good crowd of artisans, thespians, professionals , and musicians. If you comported yourself; were civil; held your liquor and could converse with ease you could have a great time. Friendly, accepting, great food; a little "up scale." But not out of reach!
Wow what a great little find. Staff super friendly polite but professional and they seem to know what advise to give and step back this is a small pub but has so much history and it’s on 2 floors with a fireplace and balcony and where the fireplace is they have 2 seating areas. The food is really good I took roast beef and Yorkshire pudding whipped potato and steamed vegetables and they use real spicy horseradish which was outstanding haven’t had such a nice Sunday lunch like this in ages. Would definitely recommend Kensington pub to anyone and there brunch menu is also very interesting will look forward to going back. I was sat upstairs so l looked into the beams.
First of all the aesthetic of this pub is perfect for the british feel. Our server was Anna, she weirdly came at the perfect time everytime, she was also super helpful and would always grab what we needed. Another odd positive note is that the men’s bathroom smelt really good. Most importantly food was amazing, serving sizes were massive when taking price into account and it. obviously tasted great as well. Enjoy!
