The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Red Deer

Went for dinner on Valentines Day. Had a great experience, never happened before at any Keg, thought I was Keg-cursed. Pros: Nailed the cook on both our steaks. I wanted medium gf wanted medium-rare. Dessert was delicious, had the cheesecake and Billy miner pie size of a house by the way, very shareable. Service was prompt and excellent. Cons: Time restraint on Valentine’s Day, given 1.25 hours so had to forgo the appies but we didn’t see anything we really wanted so went main and dessert which was a ton of food anyway. I think we went over the limit but they didn’t do anything about it, so I didn’t lose them a star for it. Overall, went there due to a gift card I was given and would go again. They were super busy so nailing the service and food was impressive.

I don't go here very often, except for special occasions but I always like the ambiance and atmosphere. Dimly lit, sound doesn't seem to carry and the furniture is comfortable. I highly recommend booking a table as this place is always busy after 5 PM and then line up and wait can get extensive. I definitely recommend trying the escargot and brie cheese, pesto and jelly platter. These are two appetizers I almost always get every time I go.

Always top notch food from the Keg. They realize if you're spending 80 dollars on a filet and lobster it should be cooked to perfection and they definitely didn't disappoint. My steak didnt leak at all which means it was rested properly as well, these cooks know what they're doing. They even had port! Which is a rarity these days and it was actually served in a port glass which you normally only see in higher end restaurants. This place really sets the bar for steakhouses in Red Deer. Also the servers were on their game, very attentive and amicable.

First time going here and it was beyond amazing. The food was exquisite. I got the salmon with brussel sprouts. My husband got the 8oz top sirloin with mashed potatoes. Both dishes were so delicious. The food was amazing. We also ordered the calamari and we got the complimentary bread. Both were so delicious and very hard to resist. We went on New Years Eve evening so it was busier than ever, highly recommend booking a table online than just strolling through the door. The service was amazing. They weren't too in your face but they weren't too absent either and they were all very friendly. Al our waiter was very good, he was very delightful and awesome. The entire experience was worth every delectable penny! Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options included the seasonal veggies, salads and soups, mashed potatoes, mushroom rice, etc. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant has no steps accept for certain dining areas, but most of the dining room was easy to navigate around: with feet or wheels. Dietary restrictions: Offered vegan, vegetarian, and gluten friendly options.

There were 3 of us in our dinner party. Teo of us had the special 18 oz strip steak the other had prime rib and lobster. The steaks were perfect, the prime rib and lobster was definitely sub par. Our server was great! They comped one of our deserts and offered to remove the lobster from the bill. It wasn't a bad experience.

We were served by a very efficient, friendly server named Caitlyn. Positive and upbeat, efficient without sticking around making small talk. Both had a drink which arrived quickly and order was correct. Both had the ribs. Came in an appropriate length of time, hot and presented well. Sad that the bread has been changed from the old sour dough loaves. This new bread is dreadful. Billy Miner Pie closed out the meal and never disappoints. Lovely dinner.

Waitress was very slow and didn't come around often. We needed things she missed 3 or 4 times and she was no where to be found. Need more than one waitress around so they aren't always at the bar side. Customers came in and waited quite a while at the front door, maybe 15 min. Had that been us we would have just left. I take in to consideration she may have been new and training which I can appreciate takes time. Better quality on the managers end would be appreciated greatly.

It was good but we did have to send back one of our steaks as not being cooked as ordered. And we're not used to getting a pound of mashed potatoesFood: 3/5

Waiter was exceptional, food was very good albeit expensive, but as unpopular as this will be how I miss the days when a high end restaurant didn't have children at most every table! Was looking for a quiet / romantic night to celebrate our anniversary. Even after we requested a table away from children!Food: 5/5

We celebrated our 24th anniversary on Nov 28. The server went above and beyond, super friendly and great recommendations. The starter was delicious and the main course was outstanding. Portions were generous. Very happy all around.Food: 5/5
