Tried this place with my friends once and I had to come back with my family the next day just because the food was excellent. Way better than your typical famous afghan restaurants around. The rice was made perfect to my taste and meat was premium and quite tender. The mantu was completely tasteless honestly but the ashak is to die for. It was so good. Other than that the best Lamb shank and Lamb chops I have had. The restaurant was very cold tho. It is like they turned of the heat and that too in winter. We had to complain a few times until finally they turned it back on and it started to feel better. Other than that this definitely on my repeat list anytime I feel like eating afghan food. The service was great but the server might wanna tie her hair as some guests may not like their server fixing her hair and preparing their food tray at the same time.
Enjoyed the QABULI PULLAO, basmati rice cooked with lamb Shank and garnished with rich flavours of sweet raisins and carrots and the tandoori chicken which was marinated chicken breast. Great service.
Amazing food. Great value and you can sense the care put into making the food delicious. The meat was perfectly cooked, high quality and hit the spot. The salads were perfectly dressed and mantu is a unique experience! Meat lovers platter fed all 4 of us adults and 3yr old. Did I mention we still had more that half a tray of the Kabul rice left over! Highly recommended!
Average to below average at best. A couple of things put me off: 1. The bread, which is key to judge an afghani place, is below average. Feels like they don’t even bake on site felt like it was warmed up in the microwave. Also the owner / server never brought it out with the meal and assumed I would never request for it. They only provided it when I asked and that too after like a 5 minute wait! Unacceptable! 2. They have a $11 lunch special vs paying $12.99 for a standard chicken platter. I realized this after I paid and the owner told me the size of the lunch special is “smaller”. Ok so what makes it a “special”?? Am I missing something!? 3. The thing that put me off the most was that there was a freaking hair under the bottom of my rice. The hair was soaked in oil so it definitely did not fall off my head LOL picture attached as proof Bottom-line: with so many Afghan eateries in Mississauga, why bother with this one!?!?
Absolutely amazing customer service, The server was extremely friendly, very prompt with the order. Courteous, friendly and extremely quick.
The food/ product was below par. Bread/ naan were not fresh. They looked stale to me and were reheated. Rice had no taste/ flavour. The kebabs were broken in to two to cheat with customer. I wasted my $18 for a food worth $8 max. My suggestion to owner is please taste your food yourself and you will find out yourself that you are in wrong business. The only positive thing was customer service.
I love Afghan food so I was quite disappointed when I received my food and it failed to meet my expectations. I was hoping to be wowed since this place had such amazing reviews but it was just mediocre. The tandoori chicken lacked flavour and was fairly small for the price you pay sorry I ate a couple of pieces before taking a photo. My sister’s lamb chops were just ok.
We entered at 8:12 and started ordering the food..we wanted to dine in but the server said they are only doing take outs because SHE wanted to GO HOME AT 9. I said it’s just 8:13 she said actually we need to start cleaning and go home at 9. WORST SERVICE EVER. THIS IS NOT DONE SERVERS SHOULD BE CHANGED.
One of the better Afghan kabob places in Mississauga, definitely better than watan kabob. And their prices still seem reasonable. This has become one of my two go-to places for kabob.
