We wanted to go on a late Valentines date so we decided to try The Gates. It was easy enough to get a reservation but then again, this was a Sunday evening with bitterly cold temperatures outside...not many people venture out in weather that punishing. We ended up paying a bit more than we're used to but for a special occasion it's a good choice. We had a lovely window table and there were enough other patrons that we were able to eavesdrop on some interesting conversations this mainly just happened as the gentleman at another table must have been deaf and was overcompensating. The food was delicious. For a starter we had the brie, which is a meal on its own. Then we had the Bison short ribs and Stuffed Chicken. The ribs were definitely the better of the two but the chicken held its own. Creme Brule for dessert was the perfect end to a delightful meal.
If you're looking for a wedding venue, you NEED to visit The Gates. Their team is amazing, food is delicious and the venue is breathtaking. We had our wedding there on June 10 and I cannot say enough amazing things. Everyone was shocked how beautiful our wedding was and how professional the team was that we hired. Thank you Nadine & staff for making our day beyond perfect.
Was here for Valentine’s and the service was excellent, great wine recommendation. We had a $75 4 course menu and got a lot of food. Everything tasted great. The prime rib was the best I’ve ever had.
I photographed a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony this past summer at the gates which went really smooth for the couple and as a vendor. Ray was super friendly and helpful as well as the rest of the staff. It's a beautiful location and I'd highly consider it if you're having a nice rustic, elegant or intimate wedding.
If I could give the gates 10 stars I would! My husband and I had our wedding here and everything from the staff, to the venue, to the food !!! far exceed our expectations. All of our guests still talk about how amazing the food was. Ray was a wonderful event coordinator to work with and he went above and beyond to make sure that our day was perfect. I felt so relaxed on our wedding day because we knew we were in good hands. Whilst the cocktail hour was going on, his staff set up the reception area and it blew me away their eye for attention and how meticulous they were with the set up. Their head server Chris and everyone working there was so professional and amazing. I can't stop raving about this place! If you're thinking about hosting a wedding, consider the Gates, you won't be disappointed. We are so grateful to the Gates and all the staff that made our day so wonderful. We could not have asked for more, everyone was done to perfection even my medium rare roast!

Wonderful dining experience that was worth the short drive out of the city! We had the chateaubriand for 2 and it was the most tender beef I’ve ever had!
I'll keep this short ONLY because people don't read long reviews...but we just got married at the Gates and we couldn't have asked for a better venue! Ray and the entire team there took such great care of us. The food was absolutely AMAZING. We made a lifetime of memories that day and the Gates and their staff will always hold a special place in those memories. Highly recommend. I could write a book and how great they were! ONE MILLION STARS!
Our server was amazing. She constantly checked up on us and made sure we knew the evenings specials and what her personal likes were. Very personable and nice. Would highly recommend the prime rib entree and the brie appetizer.
Was here again on Saturday and had an excellent ceaser Salad, prime rib and caeser cocktail several.Food: 5/5
