The ambiance was great because we had almost private seating as there are some tables which have really cool walls made out of work on either side. Also had a great view of the live jazz ensemble that was playing.  We had a very interesting (good) seasonal cocktail that was reasonably priced. The food was above average, but nothing spectacular.  The French onion soup was amazing, so highly recommend that if it's your thing.  Shrimp appetizer was mediocre.  Still recommend this place as worth checking out, but it didn't get five stars from me because I was expecting more from the food.

Lovely downtown favourite!  Cozy wine bar (prefer in autumn/winter or rainy evening since basement level), outstanding wine selection, very good happy hour(s), good food.  The mussels are always a favourite, the crabcakes have little filler, much crab unlike most.  Outstanding service.  Love the evening jazz.  Very good private room availability. Highly recommended.

Went for restaurant week and had the set meal with bean soup, duck, and flourless chocolate cake. The bean soup was pretty heavy, but I had eaten a big lunch a few hours before. I wanted to save room for the main course. The duck was well cooked (two nicely sized duck breasts), not too dry and the apples gave it a nice sweet flavor. By the time dessert came I was stuffed. The chocolate cake tasted a lot like fudge and would like to next time opt for something like the creme brulee. I did ended up trying a little bit of the ice cream and felt it was a little lackluster. 

Ambiance was nice and cozy, dimly lit, but downstairs held a surprising amount of people. I read that they had live music on some nights and would love to come back!

My steak au poivre was delicious, as was my appetizer of escargot in puff pastry with plenty of garlic and butter and a little Pernod.  Others enjoyed the scallops in sherry sauce and three of our party ordered the duck and all raved about it.  Steve provided excellent wine help even when our party made unconventional choices.  We went on New Year's Eve, often a challenging time for fine dining.  We had excellent food and service.  The nice rating given here was earned, not gifted!

My favorite restaurant in Ann Arbor. Great French and Italian fare. I love the escargot and the pecan crusted fish. Massive wine selection and knowledgeable staff.
