Ray's Red Hots

I recently started working nearby and since I forgot my lunch at home today I thought I'd try Rays. Without thoroughly reviewing the menu, I ordered a classic burger, medium, on a wheat bun and hesitantly paid the $9.75 total. Since most students aren't back yet, it wasn't busy and my food came out quickly. The burger was a prepressed patty. The onions were chopped. The lettuce still had ribs. Pickles were sweet. The bun was a standard bulk wheat bun. Decent food, but not worth $10. Next time I forget my lunch I'll be likely to go elsewhere.

I enjoyed my beef sandwich and hot dog. A great place for lunch!

I ordered the chili cheese waffle fries and it was a ripoff. There was barely any cheese on the fries and the chili consisted of literally 4 beans. Not kidding. The chili was a light brown water with 4 beans. Total ripoff

2 stars is a gracious review. If you're new to the area don't waste your time coming here if your bringing your girlfriend or family. I have never been here before and the guy was fairly rude when we were trying to figure out what we wanted. He said "c'mon guys what are we doing here." I don't care if you're rude to me but don't be rude to my girl friend. He didn't give suggestions just for the food to end up costing 30$?! I could have paid that at a restaurant and got good service, food and friendly greeting. My burger was good and so was the shake. But it was like getting food from your pissed off friend.

Great food in a cute little diner atmosphere. Surprising amount of veggie/vegan options for those non-carnivores. Worth the trip.
