This place is the best bar in that city. There were only a few dozen nights I spent in this town last summer and I chose to drink here most often. Weekday nights would be my suggestion. Jake is pretty good at selling liquor.
Always a fantastic experience, friendly barstaff, as well as bouncers, always willing to go that extra little bit, line is form3d by 1045 to get in, also a much younger crowd than the grotto typically it is 19-26 year Olds as a good average
Open Mic nights are a must have experience of the local Kamloops scene, usually on Monday nights!! all sorts of genres of music and an open stage!!! Step up to an open stage all comedians, magicians, poets and musicians are welcome!!
Worst racist security I have seen in my life.we waited in the queue for more than two hours. when we were next to get in , the security totally neglected me and my friends and allowed only Canadians ‼ We still waited till almost 30 min before the closing time ,but securities at the door ignored us and had nice hugs and kisses from whom they favoured. I wont never ever suggest this place to anyone and If possible I would give 100 marks for worst customer service business in entire Kamloops NEVER VISIT Commodore Grand Cafe & Lounge
if I could give this place a -1 I would. Waited almost three hours in line just to find out staff were getting friends in by the back door. People who was already in would go outside and bring friends with them; the bouncers wouldn't even ask them for anything. This is not having any respect and consideration to the customers waiting in line, in the cold. This place is 100% unprofessional. Never going there again.
Really good food, but a little pricey. There is definitely a party atmosphere so if you're looking for quiet or a date there.. Be sure it will work. They do different music though and once they switched on something smooth it feels really nice. The tables are a little large and awkward even for bigger people and the furniture is a little worn.
The heavily vanilla scented air made it impossible to enjoy our drink. It's like they had 100 vanilla scented candles going. It just reeked and made me feel ill. If it didn't smell like a brothel, I would have loved it. Great atmosphere and average service. I'm not even sensitive to smells. Others came in and left upon smelling. It's a bar .... not the body shop! UPDATE: I did complain to the server about the scent. Her answer "like um yeah it really bothers some people".
We had a great family fondue dinner tonight. Just perfect! The salads are my favorite meal and these guys know how to do it. If you have not been I highly recommend you make a date with these guys.
What an awesome place to watch the world go by in downtown Kamloops. We visited the same weekend that the Back Alley festival was on and we had a super spot to watch some of the action. We ordered the baked brie to go with our beverages. What a cool appy! It had so many different flavors and textures, it was a treat to eat. Friendly but not intrusive service. An added treat was seeing the head coach and some of the BC Lions turn up.
Beautiful setting and building. Bar staff is good. Bathrooms are extremely small for a club this size. DJ was erratic and was all over the place. This place has the potential to be great for a small city, but they need to get a DJ that will keep the dance floor going, and not be too involved with their drug induced music mix.
